In what could be labelled as Beano Cook’s ultimate wet dream, the South Bend Tribune is reporting that none other than Ron Powlus will be named the QB coach at Notre Dame.
The idea that Powlus will be coaching Jimmy Clausen is almost poetic. After practices, they can compare the number of hypothetical Heisman Trophies each has been awarded.

UPDATE: I said it was almost poetic.
Perhaps Ron Powlus will be football’s Billy Beane–a can’t miss guy who missed, and who now is an effective evaluator of talent. Or maybe not. Maybe it will turn out to be SMQ’s demented vision. That would be cool to watch.
