Miscellany

In case you haven’t noticed, it’s a quiet day (so far, at least) in college football.  Here are a few minor items you might scout:

• If you’re a Georgia fan who watches ESPNU, you might want to find something else to do for most of the day tomorrow.
• College football head coach:  nice work if you can get it.
• Joe Paterno versus Fidel Castro – who leaves office more quietly?  (h/t The Wizard of Odds)
• I’m kicking myself for missing this tidbit.   Inside his box at Doak Campbell Stadium hangs a picture of the infamous Lane Fenner catch that was disallowed — a play that should have given FSU a victory against Florida in 1966. And inside the men’s room in the president’s box, the urinals are Gator blue and orange.  Please – don’t give the interior decorators at the North Avenue Trade School any ideas.
