Wow, Herbstreit just went nuts over Stafford on College Football Live – great physical specimen, makes all the throws, knowledge of the game, etc. If I’m not mistaken, he hinted that Matt could upstage the GPOOE™ this season, which is close to rank heresy at ESPN these days.
Herbie is out at the Elite 11 camp, which is where he’s getting the personal observations about Stafford from.
I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to get a little nervous about this season.

UPDATE: I guess I wasn’t the only one who heard it.

But did he have to wear the USC T-shirt? Seriously?

Am I the only one who heard “gapooey” in their mind when they read GPOOE? Yes? I thought so.
Will I be the only one who adopts Gapooey as his official nickname?

Do you have a video link of this? I just can’t believe he would say it…

I heard it and almost burned my dinner I was so surprised. The Senator’s almost quoting verbatim. Herbie referenced a possible #1 NFL selection if Stafford declares after this year, too. Kinda like playing with fire, this whole getting love from the WWL thing…
I just can’t wait until we get the chance to prove it on the field.

I can’t believe Herbie said “hard for me to imagine a better looking physical specimen. He may be the best quarterback and the first pick in NFL Draft if he decides to leave early.” WHAT? Better looking than Timmy Atlas? Don’t let Oscar hear that he might stare a hole through you Herbie. Besides I thought everybody referred to Stafford as Fatty Matty! I guess the rumors of Stafford being in the best shape of his career are true. This could very well be a special season.

You are wise to Trademark “GPOOE.” I’d like a license to use said TM (for non-profit and morally upstanding purposes only, of course) if you don’t mind.

TB, be my guest. It’s my fervent hope that it winds up seeping into general public consciousness.

I’m still holding out for Mark May to sing our praises before I get worried. If he does, I you will find me CAREFULLY re-reading the last book in the Bible.
