Chris Low pretty much sums up why every Georgia fan should be happy David Cutcliffe took the Duke job.
… Cutcliffe never lost to Georgia in nine games as Tennessee’s offensive coordinator/play-caller (1992-98 and 2006-07). In those nine games, the Vols averaged 35.3 points and were held under four touchdowns only once.
In the five trips to Athens with Cutcliffe overseeing the offense, the Vols averaged 35.4 points. In the three trips without him, they averaged just 14 points.
Is Cutcliffe too closely associated with Fat Phil? Or could he be the next HMFIC at utk?
I’m guessing not a lot of people associated with Phil will be jumping at the opportunity to take that job. If it gets bad enough that Phil is actually fired, all of his former assistants probably know that Phil knows where all the bodies are buried and could burn the program at any time.
As long as we beat them this week, I’d love for Fulmer to get to 8 wins. Keeps Fulmer in the driver’s seat, keeps Cutcliffe safely stowed in the ACC. Everybody wins.
HMFIC?
I think the numbers speak for themselves regarding Fulmer’s record with and without Cutcliffe. What I want to know is whether Cutcliffe listed Willie Martinez as one of his references when applying for the Duke job.

As both a UGA (undergraduate) and Duke graduate (master’s), I’m glad Cutliffe is at Duke and hope he stays there. Go Dawgs! and Go Devils!
HMFIC is Head Mo Fo In Charge. I like the way Will Q is thinking except the part about UT winning 8 games.
How did that old Don Henley tune go?
“I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something, something I can use
People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry
Well, I could’ve been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don’t have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear, give us dirty laundry
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em all around
We got the bubbleheaded bleach-blonde, comes on at 5
She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It’s interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation? Is the head dead yet?
You know the boys in the newsroom got a running bet
Get the widow on the set, we need dirty laundry
You don’t really need to find out what’s going on
You don’t really want to know just how far it’s gone
Just leave well enough alone, keep your dirty laundry
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re up, kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re stiff, kick ‘em all around”
