Saturday morning tidbits

Getting you started before you hit the road, or fire up the telly:

  • Chris Low documents the surprising fall of the LSU defense this year.  It’s been overshadowed by the quarterback situation, but that’s a pretty staggering drop.
  • I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a story like this one before.  At least Ferentz didn’t have to call the parents about the suspension.  (h/t The Wizard of Odds)
  • Jerry Hinnen of Joe Cribbs Car Wash fame heads over to SEC blog Team Speed Kills to give us a midseason look at the SEC’s quarterbacking situation.  Let’s just say as a group, they’re a pretty underwhelming bunch to date.
  • Back to Chris Low, who’s also got a blog entry up about how Mark Richt is coping with his ridiculously young offensive line, particularly Ben Jones, whom Richt gushes about.

Hopefully LSU’s defense will continue to fall at least thru next week.
