It looks the Ginger Assassin may not be 100% for the game tomorrow.
UGASports.com provides more details here.
And here’s what Schlabach is reporting.
*****************************************************************
UPDATE: “I will be playing tomorrow.”
Is he even on the plane? OMG……..
The last thing I heard on the radio 15 minutes ago was that Cox would be flying separately from the rest of the team.
“UPDATE: the source who talked to Cox said he talked to him again mid-afternoon, that Cox confirmed he was leaving tonight and said, ‘If I had to play tonight I could.’”
I think Joe would probably say that if he were a quadruple amputee.
Being reported on Rivals and ESPN, but not confirmed. ESPN says he will play, but he could be weakened. This guy deserves better luck that this after waiting for his turn. I am more concerned that other players may also be having problems with flu symptoms, but that is also unconfirmed. Reports did say this was not swine flu related based on tests. Scary how much flu is going on at colleges all over the south, and it isn’t flu season yet. Fingers crossed……
Joe is sick, and I don’t feel so good myself…
And just when everything seemed to be going well…then this. Hopefully he’s got the strength to go. I’m sure Courson’s pumping fluids into the guy like he’s a fire hose. Worst case, Logan takes the reigns; not so bad, but not what we’d all like to see happen.
Prayers out to Joe tonight for a good night’s rest and strength tomorrow. We’re gonna need him!
Go Dawgs!!!
Someone just reminded me that Jordan had “the flu” during game five of the Finals in 1997.
It brought me down from the ledge…
Joe Cox eats swine flu for breakfast.
Whatever.
Really, whatever. Can our OL dominate their DEs? Then you can have me throwing out there and be fine.
Exactly.
This is not even mentioning the faith I have in Gray being more than capable of running our offense.
De Lawd do move in mysterious ways.
Does this mean I should renew my symphony tickets?
And I gotta tell you, I hope all this confidence in our O line is justified.
What made the NFL Business so enamored with Knowshon was his ability to run well with virtually no blocking at the point of attack….and ain’t they all back?
“If experience was the most important thing, Prinz Eugen’s mules would be commander-in-chief” Bismark
Our O-line last year was OK, though. They weren’t world-beaters by any stretch, but considering the constant shuffling due to injuries, they held their own just fine. Ben Jones and Cordy Glenn in particular played incredibly well for true frosh.
And Sturdivant and Boling are 1st round talents. The line is going to be great… for the next couple of years.
Do not want!
friends, i see providence at work.
first, we’re going to stillwater.
stillwater was the band in “almost famous.”
their hit song? FEVER DAWG!!!
joe cox? DAWG WITH A FEVER!!!
and as a fifth year senior, behind stafford, he has sorta been almost famous.
Nice.
Hey it’s the persian kitty. Sultan of the one-word response.
We’re on the same team, dude. What is it with you and trolling my posts? Both here and on PWD’s blog.
Did I really get under your skin that much? Because if so, that wasn’t my intention.
God is a Bulldog.
My God, methinks we ARE all looney as Mad Ducks…is 3:30 EVER going to get here?
BTW, my Vol Fan buddy denies the rumors Kiffin flew to Oregon last night with scholarship papers under his arm.
You don’t know how close I came to putting up a post to that effect this morning.
Being something of a student of history, I suspect we better get in all the Kiffin jokes we can, as soon as we can.
(“being a student of history” really means I am so old I have seen too much not to make myself nervous about anybody we have to play regular.)

If OSU isn’t already on the verge of imploding, now they have to face a running threat at QB. On the other hand, my daughter is a sophomore at UGA and has been suffering from the same symptoms for the past several days. While she doesn’t feel great, she hasn’t missed any classes. It does make me wonder if she is secretly dating the Ginger Avenger. I will search her dirty laundry for death stars and such.
Here’s the deal folks…..we all HOPE Joe is well. And we all HOPE our o-line is as good as some people think, and that our defense is better…..and you know what Stephen King said about hope?
“Hope is a dangerous thing, it can make a man crazy”
Shawshank Redemption.
I am now going to spend the rest of the day listening to Beethoven and not thinking about football….yeah, right.
Relax.
My younger cousin is traveling with the team. He called me and said Joe was simply having a bad case of the shits.
He’s fine.
That, and he was throwing up all night and shitting too. But that he’s fine now.
The trainers were feeding him pears and watermelon. Jason said he responded positively to the food. Next is crackers and oysters.
I’m a little late on this, but: TMI Jitterbug, TMI.
Thanks a lot, Jitterbug. Right before I sit down to my chili dinner. Seriously.
We have 3 more “elite 11″ QB’s on the team other than Joe. Although I am pulling for Cox, I am confident that Gray or Murry would play admirably if he can’t go.
The good news is you already have a built-in excuse for when you lose the game.
Just kiddin’
Go dawgs – beat the cowpokes!
