Actually, it’s the post-spring depth chart, in all its glory. (Hale’s got it in print here, if that’s easier for you to follow.)
A few noteworthy items:
OFFENSE
- The big one – Murray is listed as the number one at QB. (By the way, according to Dean Legge, Gray was #2 before Mettenberger’s dismissal from the program.)
- The mild surprise – Tavarres King is the number one at SE, ahead of Durham.
- The position of strength – Man, that list of TEs looks badass.
DEFENSE
- The defensive line is thin.
- Christian Robinson is #1 at Mo linebacker, ahead of Dowtin.
- Hamilton is running #2 – at free safety.
- It’s nice to see Quintin Banks on a two deep. Let’s hope he can stay healthy this year.
- Cuff is indeed one of the starting corners. That was one helluva spring.
You can hear what Richt has to say about the current depth chart here.
What are y’all’s thoughts?
“I’m somebody now! Millions of people look at this [chart] everyday! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity – your name in print – that makes people. I’m in print! Things are going to start happening to me now.”
I’m guessing Caleb King was left off due to injury?
That was what Hale said.
“Hey! Somebody doesn’t like this oil!”
“Stay away from these cans!”
First I get my name in the phone book and now I’m on your ass. You know, I’ll bet more people see that than the phone book.
King is co-#1 at TB.
Justin Anderson will provide some more depth for the DL. I still see no major problems at any position including QB. This year, 2010, could still be: “The Year OF The DAWG”.
Samuel is third string. Ouch.
Can Richard take a redshirt?
He could probably use a year right now. Relax Richard. Enjoy college. We love ya.
Let’s hope he finds his “special purpose.”
He’ll find it. He’s just too raw right now. He’s only been a college linebacker for what, 3 months? Give him a year with Belin and/or Grantham and let’s see. My bet is on him to become a monster. Too talented not to find a groove eventually in my opinion.
Remember how young he is, too.
I like the idea of him red shirting to learn the position. Because he’s not going to start this year and he’s running out of eligibility.
+1.
“I’m picking out a thermos for you…”
Let’s hope that Dawg’s a hero…not a $#[±head…
To me the Christian Robinson listed as #1 means the best players will play regardless of Seniority. If you are the best and smartest athlete to make plays you will be on the field. Now if only we saw that KO coverage team line-up.
I’m with Lee…it sure is nice to see Dowtin sitting for lack of effort. This is not a knock on Dowtin as much as it is a “hell yeah” to Belin. Give 100% on every play or sit your butt down….I like it…a lot.
And I look for Nick Williams to put some snot on some people’s face mask this year. A linebacker at strong safety…..hmmm, that reminds me of something I used to see once upon a time.
Love the headline from “The Jerk.” Wonder how many people will get it.
everyone that already replied gets it
Any Gen-Xer worth his salt will get it.
“I can fix those shocks”
“Naw, we just want some gas, muchacho”
