Kiffin watch: I am shocked, shocked to find that coach poaching is going on in Tennessee!

The Laner alienates somebody new:

“I am very disappointed in Lane Kiffin’s approach to this,’’ Fisher said. “Typically speaking, when coaches are interested in hiring or discussing potential employment from coaches on respective staffs, there is a courtesy call made from the head coach or athletic director indicating there is an interest in talking to the assistant.

“So I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism on behalf of Lane, to call me and leave me a voicemail after Kennedy had informed me he had taken the job. It is just a lack of professionalism.’’

At least he didn’t act surprised.

Maybe as a make-up gesture Junior will propose that the Titans play USC in the Kickoff Classic.

Did Kiffin have his shirt tail in when he did it?

Why the media witch hunt against Coach Kiffin? I don’t get it, this is just “part of the plan” and people should take the time to understand the man.

The man is the anti Will Rogers. He never met a man he didn’t alienate.

What if Coach Fisher responded by having an agent cotact USC’s top players without telling Kiffin?

Or take another track and announce the Titans will not consider drafting anyone out of USC while Kiffin is the coach. That would do wonders for his recruiting and likely isn’t that far fetched given the K-man’s ability to coach folks up.

I’m somewhat confused as I’m sure Coach Kiffin is. The Titan’s coach is just saying Kiffin should have contacted him as a courtesy and not because it was required. How many employers ask permission to recruit someone else’s employees??? I don’t like Kiffin but this is a weak case against him.

Doesn’t really matter what we think or do.

I guess coaching protocol dictates a courtesy call.

Fisher finds himself a coach short with about a week or so before training camp.

Oh well. Just part of the plan I guess.

It is fairly common practice among people with at least a hint of professionalism and integrity.

Lane Reaching Out and Touching Someone:

When Lane’s team of publicists release a written statement that says something like this:

“out of my great respect for Coach Fisher I immediately reached out to Coach to make him aware of the situation.”

UT has now sued USC and Kiffin in a Knoxville court for tortuous interference with a contract for stealing Coach Pola. Stay tuned.
