Thursday morning buffet

Make sure your boxers are covered before proceeding.

  • The ACC’s got some serious catching up to do with the SEC on the recruiting front.
  • John Pennington says if you want a hint of what’s in store for Florida’s offense this year, check out the 2001 Patriots.
  • You tell me – which set of arguments do you find more convincing?
  • kleph corrects an error in his graph about Georgia’s defensive third down conversion percentage and sees both good news and bad news in the change.
  • Auburn spent about $150,000 on those championship rings.  (Insert punchline of your choice here.)
  • For some reason, Gordon Gee found it necessary to apologize to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
  • More flailing about from your friends at the NCAA.
  • Pastor refers to Auburn’s Tigerettes as “hoe-stesses”.  Nice.

The pastor should be ashamed. He should have used the Biblical term for those hostesses which is “harlots”

  2. OKDawg

I’m quite partial to the Old Testament “concubine.”

    Trollop.

Apparently, Mr. SEC thinks that Weis went into a food coma after walking out of Gillette Stadium, and hasn’t coached since 2004.

Hall of Fame talent can make a good coach look great. Just ask Leo Mazzone how it went in Baltimore without Glavine, Maddux, Smoltz, etc.

If someone wants to argue that Weis “made” Brady, then fine. I might be willing to concede the point. But you have to concede that Brady hasn’t taken any steps back since his tutor left in ’04. That tells me that someone else could have “made” him just as well. Where are all of the stars on Weis’ resume since New England? Are we to assume that just because Brantley wears a Florida uniform, he’s automatically a great player, waiting to be molded?

Leo Mazzone used to be in the Gang of Six until he changed to a more traditional coaching style.

Also didn’t Brady have some flashes of brilliance at Mich anyway. I mean I know all about the late draft pick and all that…but it’s not like Weis handed him his first football, right? Certainly more than Brantley’s had up to this point, right ?

If dude from Denver even has to ask, he is already a tech fan….or should be.

They tried to skew it as best they could, using the SID from Tech, and some blogger that just arrived in Atlanta 2 weeks ago to make their respective cases.

Not one mention of how you put your life and wallet at risk every time you step onto the NATS campus either. I feel like someone should advise the guy of that just for humane reasons.

If you have to ask “Georgia or Tech?”, then you deserve Tech.

Allah Akbar for Preacher Boykin standing up for Jesus by complimenting the Tigerettes, writing a sermon, sizing his gonads, wishing they were bigger so he would not have to be like the liberal churches and ignore the teachings of Christ.

Wait until he and his raisenettes find out that the hippies in the U.S. House are just about to win, which will be a very good thing for me and what’s left of my tent replacement squad.

Why would you have to change? I live in NC and don’t pull for ANY of the half dozen Unis here. I pull for the Dawgs babay!

I thought many prominent football programs employed these student hostesses for helping give tours / host recruiting events etc during the football recruiting season. This way assistant coaches don’t have to spend potential coaching prep time to usher groups of 10-30 highshool sophomores / juniors around campus etc. I know UGA had a group like this when I was a student in the early 2000s. Why are people freaking out about Auburns version of this? I remember Lane Kiffin raising eyebrows by deploying these girls to visit recruits’ HS football games… Now that is shady. To me just having these student liaisons does implicate AU, unless I am missing something. Hopefully, I am…

    • Mayor of Dawgtown

Dboy, apparently you missed the thread where it was discussed that Auburn had paid over 80 grand to their “hoe-stesses.” The question was did they keep it or did they pass it on the the recruits that they were “entertaining” as an inducement to attend and play football for Auburn. And if they kept it, what did they do to earn it?

      • dboy

Ahh, thanks Mayor. Missed that one. Maybe you should run for the House of Representatives of Dawgstate… but you are not allowed to userp the Senator.

        • dboy

“And if they kept it, what did they do to earn it?”

-Look Hot. That is all, i’m sure….

At the risk of sounding like an AU apologist (shudder), I wonder what the payroll of theses hostess programs across the SEC look like.

          • Go Dawgs!

Am I wrong about this? I was under the impression that UGA eliminated a similar program several years ago.

          • dboy

Seems to me using 19 y/o blond former HS cheerleaders to commit secret, organized NCAA violations is a bad plan. Hasn’t your woman ever made you watch any of those housewives shows? Not exactly a closed mouth bunch. But maybe AU is just that smart: “no one would ever suspect our women.”

            • Puffdawg

Or maybe, just maybe, they are SO good at cheating they are using reverse psychology on people like you who think it would almost be TOO crazy to use a bunch of chatty cathy 19 year olds to funnel money. Or would it?

  10. Cojones

Harlot, concubine, paramour-stesses? Don’t think so.

“Reluctantly” is the key word for NCAA.
