Year2 has more details, if you’re interested.
Chizik is scheduled to speak tomorrow, by the way.

Which is coming first, WarD Eagle’s “butt hurt” first comment, or Track ‘Em Tigers’ comment that we can’t believe anything Finebaum says because of those poor innocent college girls he apparently defamed?
In all honesty and fairness, though, this sounds like BS to me. The NCAA is trying to get a bag man to come forward? Yeah, I bet they are. Good luck with that, considering that if such a person existed, he or she would be a member of the Auburn family and not eager to destroy Auburn. Plus, the assertion that the Chizik Destin outburst is what ratcheted things up? Come on, that’s crap that only happens in movies. Perhaps there are slivers of truth in here somewhere, but my BS detector is lighting up like a Christmas tree.
I agree, the only reason a booster/bagman would come forward would be legal reasons to save thier own ass, or a slight from AU or the Newtons, similar to the Bush issue at USC. If Reggie had chosen the bagman to represent him he would still have his Heisman. and USC would still have the funny little glass football.
Get ‘um.
Ward is probably looking for an AU booster club in Brazil right now.
The chances of a bag man stepping up to nail AU seem pretty slim to me. Snitches get stitches, you know?
Whatever the NCAA says is what I’ll go with
I like what you did with that. LOL
Lot to be skeptical of here:
1. Danny Sheridan is an oddsmaker, not an investigative journalist. I see that he’s claiming a 25-year relationship with an inside source, but has he ever broken news like this before? That’s not a rhetorical question; I’m asking because I really don’t know.
2. The news that the NCAA is trying to get a bag man to come forward isn’t news. Isn’t that the crux of this whole investigation? If not, what the hell was this all about? Confirmation of the bag man’s existence would be news, but absent him actually coming forward and speaking on the record, that hasn’t happened.
3. Sheridan’s comments in TSK’s update are contradictory as hell, and call this all into question.
In short, we are where we were, and the possibility that this investigation peters out in 3-6 months is just as real as it was before Sheridan opened his mouth.
Yeah, I know.
But it sure makes for a fun media frenzy tomorrow.
That’s quite an oversight thinking the NCAA will just drop the case, especially now. It’s been what 7 months already? The NCAA obviously has something substantial to run with and just because it stalls doesn’t mean they drop it.
Sheridan also is an alumnus of bammer. NEVER forget that.

in today’s SEC Media Days episode of Tinker, Tailor Soldier, Spy
If you take the 4 “ifs” that were mentioned, figure the odds for each one to happen and then multiply the odds times each other, you can get that ephemeral feeling that “something” is going to happen and that’s “if” the “ifs” are true. NAH. Nada. Nope. No.
The investigation will be over inside 2 months and be dropped as fast as a cow’s pee hitting a flat rock.
Where’s our “Move along folks. There’s nothing to see here.” friend when we need him. However, we do appreciate your effort, Senator.
Doesn’t the Law’s perspective include something about yelling “FIRE!!” in a crowded theater begin to apply here?
“Chizik is scheduled to speak tomorrow”
In preparation for his remarks tomorrow to the world including but not limited to Danny Sheridan, Finebaum and Julie Roe Lach, the N.C.A.A.’s vice president for enforcement; Gene’s corner man Don King will have Gene study up on Tyson film tonight in Gene’s luxury skybox penthouse suite at the Wynfrey in Hooverville
You mean “Julie Loe Rack”.
Gene prefers that the racks be a little higher

so you think Chin Gizik will fade into Bolivian after the NCAA gets done with him? Maybe he can get a cameo in The Hangover 3: Opelika
SEC Commissioner Slive apparently has received a note from AU Coach Chizik’s mother asking he be excused from Media Days Thurs….
I’m thinking any real news leak from the NCAA won’t use the term “bag man”.
Dear Gene Chizik,
If you’re ever in a card game for longer than twenty minutes and you still don’t know who the patsy is, you’re the patsy.
Signed,
