Les Miles, in response to the obvious question spurred by beer sales in West Virginia’s stadium:
“I certainly want to be politically correct and not be against serving beer in Tiger Stadium. Certainly the athletic director and the chancellor would have to make that decision. But I promise you, we would enjoy playing in front of a Tiger Stadium that occasionally had a beer.”
I’m glad to live in a country where it’s considered politically correct to serve beer at a college football game.

Les Miles is a national treasure.
Whoever said he was not a smart guy has no clue what they are talking about.
He’s not stupid, but he is a lucky SOB with shitty clock management.
you say that like it’s a bad thing, Will
Political Correctness is a cancer.
Beer is the cure.
The Tiger Stadium krewe has no problem whatsoever getting loaded without the sale of beer inside the stadium. In fact, beer may even mellow out some of them.
Exactly

That one sounds like a Yogi Berra thing. I’m sort of scratching my head.
When asked the same question, Stephen Garcia made a point to specify that the locker room is technically part of the stadium too and shouldn’t be left out should they allow beer sales.
The tunnel leading to the field and the sidelines are part of the stadium, too. However, I do not recommend that you drink on the field itself during play. I will join you on the sideline for a cold one during time outs, though.
I have had to stop Garcia more than once from trying to run out on the field during a game with a PBR in his hand, though.
I lot of fans make fun of Miles but not many wouldn’t like to have him on their sidelines.
I think there are a plethora of words and phrases that les miles does not understand.
“O yes, you have a plethora.”
“Jeffe, what is a plethora?”
“Why, El Guapo?”
Someone is going to die at this game.
WVU fans are worst I’ve ever experienced.
And I’ve been to the Cocktail Party a half dozen times.
Agreed. Been to WVU twice as a fairly impartial fan and pretty shocked at the fan behavior towards the opposing team (VTech) and opposing fans. After the game was downright scary. I’ve been to almost every venue in the SEC (never to Starkville or Gainesville) and, of course, to Jax, and I’ve never seen anything close to what I heard and saw in Morgantown. Hope that the WVU to the SEC possibility has passed. I wouldn’t go there again.
I am here to provide translation services, to-wit:
“I certainly want to be politically correct[and not act like I love beer and want kids to drink it]and [at the same time]not be against serving beer in Tiger Stadium. Certainly the athletic director and the chancellor would have to make that decision. [This way, they can't say i opposed them] But I promise you, we would enjoy playing in front of a Tiger Stadium that occasionally had a beer.” [I don't care what you do, I am just gonna win.]
Makes sense to me. He could solve our economic woes, or at least make us feel better about them.
Garcia and I would both welcome beer service at Tiger Stadium.
I smell corn dogs!
