“If it’s what Urban wants, I’m happy for him.”

I strongly doubt this has even a snowball’s chance in hell of happening, but damn, would I love it if it did.

He won’t make it through the entire contract. Good riddance, Corch.

  2. Russ

If it brings ridicule to Meyer and UF, then I’m all for it.

Gotta love the irony of getting screwed by your hero. What a massive conflict–almost as big as having to choose between short hair and long hair. Urban will be forever in the mind of Gator Nation, hence known as the “Urban Mullet”–stuck permanently between love and hate, never to be resolved.

      • Aligator

This is the second time this screwing has happened, the other with the OBC. anyways, I guess all the hating that you guyds do has paid off, we are now in purgatory down here. enjoy …

  3. Jax

If Meyer has indeed accepted the OSU job, then why not simply confirm it? This is what I don’t like about the guy – always looking for the angle and avoiding being straight with people.

  4. Nate Dawg

If he coached against them I would split time laughing and crying tears of joy between each snap of the game. That and sipping on cold ones as the plays happen. So it sounds like a pretty good time for Ol’ Nate Dawg, here’s to wishes coming true!

  5. Hogbody Spradlin

Corch, in his own way, defiles things just as much as Lane Kiffin.

    • Doug

It’s funny you should mention that — I was thinking just a few minutes ago, what if the Florida job was just his stepping-stone to Ohio State? Shame, shame.

  6. Dawgfan Will

Nah. Too many good things have already happened for the Dawgs this season. This would just be sinful.

  7. Mike

What have you guys got against Corch? Other than the fact that he whipped your team five out of six tries, I mean.

    • Scott W.

That and he’s a piece of shit.

    • Hogbody Spradlin

Well, if that’s what floats your boat and makes your poo smell beter Mike. But, Corch is a hustler and a self centered baby, and I bet you think it too when you’re around Gators.

      • Mike

Perhaps, Hogbody. But had he coached UGA for the last six years and won like he did at Florida, I doubt you would worry about that too much either.

The man had his faults. Not the least of which is that his recruiting acumen dimmed a bit the last three years and Florida is left to pick up the pieces.

I will be interested to see if he can rebuild the OSU program. He certainly did that at Florida.

        • Silver Creek Dawg

Mike, I’m interested in a Gators reaction to what I heard Cowherd (a complete douche most of the time) say today.

He made the point that Urban Meyer was an Ohio guy and Florida was never his dream job. tOSU was his dream job and it wasn’t open when UF was and UF was the best job available at that time, so he took it. He supposedly turned down ND because “inside” sources at ND told him they couldn’t win titles there anymore.

          What do you guys think?

          • gastr1

100% accurate, seems to me. Heard he was offered ND when they canned Weiss…he didn’t want it.

          • Mike

            Sounds about right, Silver Creek

            • Mayor of Dawgtown

Mike, I’m curious about your assessment of the Gators’ chances in this upcoming weekend’s game….wait…oh…that’s right. They aren’t playing. Never mind.

              • Mike

Actually, I would give Florida’s chance of winning the game this weekend only slightly less than your team’s chances of winning the game this weekend

        • Aligator

Yeah he rebuilt it alright and then pushed it back off the cliff ..

      • Mayor of Dawgtown

I’ll bet he SAYS that too when he’s around other Gators.

    • Go Dawgs!

I’d type a snarky response, but my arm’s too sore from doing the Tomahawk Chop on Saturday night. Loved seeing your team celebrate avoiding the shutout late in that one. Loved hearing your (our?) coach call your team soft afterwards. He had a point, I saw plenty of quit on the field and it was wearing matching blue pants and jerseys. I can’t imagine a school that would look more attractive to a recruit right now than Florida, where you can go and receive sub-par coaching and then get called out in public afterwards by your coach. In reality, all Florida did on Saturday was weaken the response I wanted to send to a sports talk radio station I heard over Thanksgiving in Clemson, which was predicting an epic beatdown of the four SEC teams set to engage ACC opponents. I suppose I can’t be too upset at Florida for being inept and embarrassing the conference. It was just a month ago when Georgia took advantage of their ineptitude to score a win in Jacksonville and, combined with last year’s overtime effort, exorcise the demons at Everbank Field. Enjoy the Gator Bowl, Florida, it’s a pity you won’t have Georgia to play there. The rest of the country isn’t scared of you anymore. Georgia’s not scared of you anymore, either. Just try not to quit before everyone changes the channel to a more interesting bowl game. It’s bad for Mike Slive’s business. Hey, look at that! I typed a snarky response, sore arm and all! I guess I’ve got more fight in me than the once-proud Florida Gators.

      • Mayor of Dawgtown

How may game did the Gators lose in the Swamp this season? Was it four? I lost count.

        • Mike

Two. We lost to Bama and FSU in the Swamp. We lost to UGA in the Swamp II…err…Gator Bowl…errr…Jacksonville We lost to LSU ,Auburn and USCe all on the road.

And it does not surprise me you can’t count that high Mayor!
          :-)

    • Normaltown Mike

I personally don’t hold any animus against him but I do find this move particularly dickish (on the premise by Mr Sec in the other article that Urban tucked tail b/c he didn’t like losing)

    • gastr1

Mike, still wanting it up the ass from Urbz, I see. Look, man, he’s moving on to a better piece of tail now. Have you checked the news lately?

    • Will (the other one)

Funny definition of “whipped” you’ve got there. 7 point victories are “whippings” according to UF educational standards now?

  8. Cojones

How do you like your sin, Will? I’ll take mine straight up and then a chaser…..or was it supposed to be the chase followed by straight up? Nah, the Baptists would think I was dancing if they saw it. Now THAT would be sinful!

    • Cojones

Shortening my blog time since a need to call all the gators known and ask them how they feel about ole Urb. Will get back with quotes.

  9. Macallanlover

The guy is so scummy he makes my skin crawl. As if I needed another reason to look down on all things Buckeye. As a prick he will become indistinguishable from the crowd in Columbus.

  10. Sneaky Short

I guess those girls arent getting their daddy back.

Forgetting for a moment the schadenfreude of Corch’s credibility thrashing and the Gators misery of their ex-girlfriend dating again; how far has Bowl season fallen when two 6-6 teams could possibly meet on Jan. 2nd?

The College post-season truly is the biggest case of Blue Balls in modern sports.

  13. Georgia Mama

The part that kills me (and I mean with laughter)? The 2006 NC between UF and OSU, in which the Buckeyes received a beatdown of massive proportions, is what started the whole conference superiority battle. OSU HATED UF and Meyer, and now he is gonna be their HC. Seriously, the irony of this is just too much. Most Gator fans I know are at stroke level over this, and I can’t blame them. If Richt left UGA with some sweet story about spending more time with his family, then went right back to coaching a year later, I would not be pleased. Man…the gifts keep coming for UGA this year!

    • Normaltown Mike

That’s a good point. If CMR left to start a mission in Uzbekibekistanstan and then less than a year later he’s coaching at FSU, I’d be pissed. Of course, CMR already rates ahead of Corch (by several factors of magnitude) on the Character-meter.

    Talk about a meteor game….

Boom has indeed gone soft…. my condolences to Mrs. Boom.
