A toast to Bill Curry

This seems to be an appropriate occasion to remember that Tim Couch spent his first season at Kentucky as an option quarterback splitting time with the immortal Billy Jack Haskins.  His college career stats suggest that wasn’t the ideal use of his abilities.  Fortunately for Couch and Makers Mark, fate, in the form of Hal Mumme, intervened.

Season Passing Rushing

1997 363 547 3,884 66.4 37 19 67 -134 3
1998 430 601 4,611 71.5 38 17 74 -116 1

Here’s looking at you, Coach Curry.

They’re selling 20,000 of those but they only expect to pull down $200,000? Are they airplane bottles?

    • “Maker’s Mark will produce 20,000 numbered, limited edition bottles honoring Couch, and they should be available statewide Friday, April 6, opening day of Keeneland’s Spring 2012 meet. The bottle should retail for about $49 if retailers take their normal markup.”

So now we know how that works.

Alabama should do a commemorative brick to honor Coach Curry.

The amazing thing is the more he threw, the higher the completion %, the higher the YPC, and the lower the Int %.

When’s the Raylen Givens commemorative Maker’s bottle coming out?

Although, if he finishes up at Georgia State (9–13) with better numbers than he had at Tech (31–43–4) or that Tech(14-12) has over the same period as his Georgia State tenure, I’ll consider his career a moderate success.

Oh, and also, I’ll laugh my ass off.

I am assuming the Jared Lorenzen commemorative edition will be an actual keg of whiskey.

I’ll drink a toast to Bill Curry, hell, I would drink to a train wreck. As a matter of fact, I am going to put on my swimsuit and dangle my feet in the pool and let a grateful world take a look at my big, fat, belly. Them I am going to toast the old center, or something, with a cold beer.
