Musical palate cleanser: six degrees of Justified.

Here’s your second Justified reference of the day.  The drummer in this clip is Mickey Jones, who plays drug dealer Rodney Dunham on the show.

Small world, ain’t it?

Oh, yeah – the clip is pretty fabulous for all the usual reasons, too.

Isn’t Justified the smartest, coolest, baddest ass show on tv right now? No wonder Elmore Leonard loves how they’ve adapted his work.

The line delivered when Raylan drops the bullet on Win Duffy and hisses “Next one’s coming faster” is perhaps the baddest ass line ever. And didn’t you like how they simultaneously noted that and kind of made fun of themselves a little bit when they wrote the whole convoluted, but brilliant, arc of THAT was the bullet used to murder Gary, and the shell had Raylan’s prints on it?

I hate, hate, HATE that season 3 is almost over, and that I’m going to have to wait wayyyyyy too long to see what happens next.

Mickey just dropped in to see what condition his condition was in.

    81Dog,

    That was the best line this season, but there’s stiff competition for #2;

Boyd to Quarles: “Don’t forget who packed your bags for you”
Raylan to Boyd: “The dance we do subsequent to that will not end with you finding Jesus in a hospital bed”
Raylan to Quarles: “I’m just gonna file that under ‘Who gives a shit?’”

One of my favorite cuts of the song that gave us “the rim shot heard round the world”.

I especially like the plodding bass line in this recording.

What? I thought “The Band” did that tour. He is sitting in Levon Helm’s seat. Keyboard player looks familiar too.
Quarles got that derringer move from watching DeNiro in Taxi Driver.

I liked the direction and writing where, after shooting into the ceiling and almost having it out with the outsider, the relief he experienced with the bartendress afterwards kinda looked real.

Hope you didn’t see him on the late night show. His speech pressure seemed to evoke drugs. Turned it off before he finished.

Ok… just gotta say if this is what Hijo de Sancho means … when he accuses me of wandered incoherent posts then I must make amends. Sorry Hijo …….. my bad. Really…. Eggs! what the hell are you trying to say here. Pass it…. “you’ve been holding onto it much too long.”
      IMHO.

Dylan would make a perfect guy to be performing in the Crowder bar
