One sign you’ve had a dominant win.

Many were the voices who pointed out how Ole Miss came into yesterday’s game playing with confidence after securing its second straight conference win.

The tune was strikingly different afterwards, though.

“We were sitting on the sidelines with 20 seconds left telling each other, ‘Hey, we’ve got to get better,” Wallace said. “Maybe we’re not as good as some people thought we were…”

Here’s hoping that switch is flipped (a la 2007) and we win out in similar fashion.

Per your comment last night, Senator, about the defense being back – and it was stout yesterday – I think a big reason for that is Alec Ogletree getting back into a groove. He seemed to be everywhere yesterday, and when I watched a couple of game highlight videos this morning, my assumptions were confirmed. The defense as a whole was dominant, but he really stood out.

    • Did you see who was the first to ‘gradulate Tree after his pick? JJ, the “pass rusher”, Who was somehow 20 yards down field. That’s not even fair. I haven’t gone out to get my morning paper yet, cause I’m pretty sure he’s waiting on me. That.Guy.Is.Everywhere.

Dennie Green’s immortal words, “they were who we thought they were”.

Now hoping that Auburn IS who we think they are…

Well Vandy left town with the impression we were pretty good also and then we proceeded to lay a total egg in Columbia a couple of weeks later, we’ve got to keep our noses to the grindstone as well, we’ve got a long way to go to beat Alabama.

We’ve stopped a couple of teams late in the fourth when they were driving on us by fortunate turnovers. Bama doesn’t do that.

From my view in the stadium, Ole Miss looked like an FCS team. They looked small – just not like an SEC team. They did spread us out in the first quarter and exploited a few things, but defensively, we adjusted from then on and made them look like an FCS team. I would not be surprised if Georgia Southern looks bigger “getting off the bus.”

Ha! Teams are Dawggrading themselves now!

Can we talk about Damian Swann?! He has become such a beast!
