I’ll see your “doesn’t play well against ranked teams” and raise you…

this.

Bottom line – nobody really knows what trends will prevail come Saturday night.

I get the feeling that if UGA wins, by whatever margin, it will be much more damning for Clemson than helpful for UGA.

Can someone just please make sure Corso’s bulldog headgear goes missing? I don’t want him picking us regardless of the outcome.

I can safely predict that I will have to carefully plan my day so as to not be drunk before kickoff. Cause once the game starts there are no holds barred.

Agreed. Several of us are meeting at a mutual friend’s lake house to watch the game together. One couple has decided to bring along their 12 year old daughter. My wife already emailed them to say she cannot be held responsible for anything the 12 year old hears during the game. It’s Georgia versus Clemson. Might as well plan on her learning some new words Saturday night.

I was thinking the same thing. Wish my girls were still kids cheerleading I could go watch some peewee football about mid-day.

  4. All bets are off. taking off the gloves, Katie un-bar the door. It is time to do this!

With the expectations we have put on our offense, whatever it produces will be a disappointment. Seems like everyone is expecting offensive perfection on the way to 50+ points. At this point I don’t think it is possible for the offense to live up to expectations

In my opinion, in the early game of each season the defense seems to have an advantage until the offense irons everything out. I know we bring back a lot of talent but offenses seem to take a while to get into sync. The under is this game may not be a bad option.

This is why I think our running game will make the difference.

    Trench Warfare Baby !!!
We win at the LOS and we win. Big Uglies to determine the outcome.

Cause given time on offense and taking time away on defense – our skill players outnumber and outman theirs. Hope the refs don’t put dresses on the Clemson QB and WRs.

If I’m Clemson – I’d try to fake physicality and survive in a Rick Leach, Chris Hatcher, Hal Mumme scoring onslaught.

LOS domination will end that momma’s boy stuff in short order.

I want to see the Dawgs win this game very much (as a California resident, making it to the BCS championship game in Pasadena is a huge deal to me personally), but all other things being equal, I’m concerned that the tie-breaker could be the stakes for Clemson in a home opener “statement game” for an under-performing program. I gather the Clemson fans are explicitly seeking to exceed the noise level in Columbia during last year’s beatdown of the Dawgs–which clearly bothered our team a lot. And I would assume Clemson will have spent a lot more time than Georgia in game-specific preparations, since their next two Saturdays involve a FCS opponent and then a bye week while we have a huge conference showdown with the Chickens.

Don’t feel good about this at all, but maybe it’s just my inveterate Munsonism or very bad memories of the last two times we faced teams in “statement games” (USC 2012, Boise 2011).

Funny, I was the game in Jax last year, that was surely a statement game….wasn’t UFranked #1 and in control of the East?

    • AthensHomerDawg

Are you cherry picking….. the Boise we opened with in 2005: The Broncos finished the 2004 season 11–1 and 8–0 in conference (went undefeated 11–0 in the regular season) to win their third straight WAC title and played in the Liberty Bowl where they lost to # 8 Louisville 40–44.

Looks like a thirty pack night. If they lose to Clemson it’s me, Jones, Willie and Haggard and Miller Lite until daylight. Maybe some John R. Cash in there too. If they win, it will be the brothers Fogarty and maybe some sweet home alabama all summer long.

Do, do, do, lookin’ out my back door!

    • Macallanlover

It’s going to be Willie, Merle, Johnny, and George either way, I cekebrate and cry with my friends. But it won’t start until after one with that kickoff time and those two offenses.

I am doubling down on the Dawgs tomorrow, the martinis and months of analysis have me bullet proof at this point. DAWGS roll!

      • Doubling down in the first week is crazy. Take it easy Mac…Time to switch to brown water.

        • Macallanlover

It was the “rainbow kisses” comment that will have me tossing and turning all night, not the cash I am certain to win on Saturday. Brown water comes later in the fall. Just back from Total Wine so I am well stocked.

          • Now Mac…tossing and turning all night is not good for you. We all need to be in great condition by Saturday. Just like our DAWGS will be. Them dawgs have some beautiful girls looking out for them.
