I haven’t counted…do we really have 10 returning starters on defense?

  2. The Bulldogs have 10 returning starters on defense. If offense can come along, the ‘Dawgs will be scary.

    Whaaaaa?

A 6′ 2 ” corner? Is he fast? No wonder Shaq decided to go sing elsewhere

  4. Doggoned

Winston forgot to pay? Looks like that was the only thing he was carrying. Pretty lame.

“If the offense can come along, the ‘Dawgs will be scary”: So the defense will carry us? Hmmmmm.

The writer must have gotten his “fences” mixed up. Of course he meant the offense will carry if the defense can improve…
But giving him that, I believe he’s mistaken about Auburn.
I believe a even half-healthy Georgia beats AU handily last year…almost did it in the depleted condition Georgia was in anyway.
I believe Georgia will beat Auburn and win the conference. A close second place will not get Georgia into the “Only Four”.
We will know all we need to know after Clemson and SC.

I agree. I think Malzahn is a heck of a coach. But I’m not sold on Auburn. Last year they were charmed and they absolutely pulled two wins out of their collective asses. To most pundits, that proves how awesome they are, and will continue to be.

For the average pundit, the offensive line returns several starters. Sure, they lost their best lineman and the #2 pick in the NFL draft, but that shouldn’t matter. So, OL is a strength. Also, Malzahn isn’t a masterful schemer who takes advantage of dual-threat QBs. He’s a guy who can magically transform a QB who is an excellent runner with decent passing skills into a masterful passer. So, Marshall is obviously the best QB returning in the conference. Auburn loses their all-SEC tailback who was a Heisman finalist. But that’s OK. They can do running back by committee to replace him. No problem. Also, while I am sold on Ellis Johnson as a DC, Auburn’s defensive was horrid last year (#87 nationally while UGA was #45). But don’t worry because they’re just awesome. While that “analysis” is just sad logic, it’s probably better than anything Mark Bradley could come up with. :(

Personally, I’m happy that the Tallahassee PD released the video of Jameis’ crab walk. The statements have been swirling out there that Jameis simply “forgot to pay” for his briny feast. This video shows that’s simply not the case. The truth is now out there, and it’s indisputable, and all this video does is make Jimbo Fisher look more ridiculous for insisting that the punishment of a short suspension from FSU baseball was enough discipline for his thieving quarterback.

    Free Seafood University.

      Go Dawgs!… That’s perfect!
I demand that the expression, “Free Seafood University” be added to the GTP Lexicon.

Free Seafood University is very catchy, but I’d humbly suggest FiveFingerDiscount Seafood University. :-)

How do you walk toward the front end of a grocery store and not have this one single thought in mind: which lanes are open and which have the smaller lines? That is ingrained in every person from the age of 10. And you have to navigate around them to exit. Then you are getting into your car and deciding where to place the products you bought on your seats…..what? No plastic bags? Jeez, talk about an unbelievable, lame excuse.

      • Just Chuck (The Other One)

It would appear the shortest line was the one that bypassed the registers.

Anybody who was hanging their hat on Winston’s excuse being legitimate confuses me. Do you really think that speeders who have been caught had no idea they were going 90mph? Do you really think that all those open container violators on Saturday in Athens were ignorant of the law, or thought they were on campus? Is stealing and lying about it really worse than stealing, but boldly taking credit for it?

“..Forgot to pay…” . My ass.

    • uglydawg

He must have walked every aisle in the store. Trying to muster the balls to “go for it”, I imagine.??
I wonder if the store dropped charges….that would be a lot of pressure on a store in a football town…kind of like the pressure the police dept. must feel.
I swear to you…if this kid were a Georgia player and CMR didn’t kick him off the team, I’d go pull for GT.

  8. I agree in principle with Little Nick-y, but it’s easy for him to say it without actually having to do it. Lead by example, Nick.

So the guy who declares Auburn to be the “class” of the SEC further demonstrates his grasp of reality by declaring UGA’s defense to be the strength of the team? Sounds about right…

I just watched the JW video, and this question crossed my mind. I saw two people whose identities were obscured, but most weren’t. How does a person qualify for pixelization in this situation?

    • Dog in Fla

I noticed that too and guessed maybe Publix has undercover people just like WalMart and that those people have to be pixelated with blurriness dust to protect their identity.

“Way to crack the case wide open, fellas.”

They learned how to do it by watching this film over and over again

Ahh, a new multi-finger-pointing justification to add to the lexicon… political consultants everywhere are taking note. Along with “mistakes were made,” “uhm…youthful indiscretion,” and the classic “Who? Me?” we have “Gosh, I forgot!” (Waitaminnit… didn’t Steve Martin already popularize that one several decades ago?) Anyway, I can see the endless applications already.. “Oh, I forgot it wasn’t free.” “Sorry, I forgot it was your car!” “Unfortunately, in my youthful exuberance, I forgot that was actually part of your anatomy.” “I was in such a hurry to help out at the old folks’ home, I forgot the safety was off.” “Oopsy, we forgot to tell that young couple that the mortgage rate would quadruple in year 2!” See? It can work in almost any situation!

You heard it here first: Hutchinson, Kansas is an absolute dump. That said, if you’re ever in the area or going through it, the Cosmosphere there is a Smithsonian institution, holding the largest collection of Russian space artifacts outside of Moscow and the largest collection of US air & space artifacts outside of the National Air & Space Museum in DC (including many things the national museum doesn’t have). Want to see the only Vostok capsule or V2 rocket on the continent, a Lockheed SR-21 Blackbird stealth bomber, or the actual astronaut capsule from the Apollo XIII mission? They’re there, in Hutchinson, Kansas, shithole on the plains. This ends this public service announcement.

Jamies Winston does not have to go to Publix lately. Crab legs are on the daily FSU athletes menu and buffet line. Some schools know how to take care of their athletes. Maybe that is why their men’s programs standout in football, baseball, and basketball. Just maybe that is why no one leaves early, they win titles, and damn, everyone is happy in Tallahassee.
13-0 white wash of dawgs by UK. I’d say after the lose to GT this week plus that ass beat down, there are some guys on the roster who need to decide if they can play D1 baseball for Stricklin. My take right now, just maybe 1 0r 2. The rest do not give a damn about their play. This team has no leadership or a player who will get anybody’s face about play. For sure they can not hit. Back to back shutouts. You have to be very bad to play like that…hopefully, Stricklin and staff will not put up with a bunch of over-rated players…time to cut some guys and find some players with the right make up.

Watched the Carolina vs Vandy baseball game last night while doing some paper work. Talked to someone during the game who played high school ball until injury took them out. Their take like mine was Carolina is a solid team of player and coaches. they have the right makeup and are damn near professional in their play in the field and box. They have good at bats. Watch Dawgs…brutal to watch them in the box. Slow bat speed and approach to pitchers…like no plan going in. Shameful if this team makes field of 12 in SEC. Need to keep their butts home and Stricklin to find some players…same with CMR…but CMR is always the same…never can get a roster in place even if they rank in the top 10 recruiting. something is damn wrong in Athens. CMR get to start their dog and pony show in just a few short weeks. personally I do not think CMR, like Stricklin has the players with the right attitude and makeup.
