Depth chart updated

The depth chart has been revised after spring practice. Dawgbone has the current listing.

A few observations:

  • Mikey Henderson continues to hold off all challengers. AJ Bryant is a senior, too. It will be a shame if AJ never fully grows into the role of being a wide receiver.
  • The only one of the JUCOs to be listed as a starter is Havercamp. Vance has a true freshman ahead of him; Wynn and Irvin are buried on the chart. I wonder if more was expected from these guys at this point.
  • Dewberry moved back ahead of Dent.
  • Middle linebacker looks a little thin, doesn’t it?
  • Evans has held off a strong challenge from Prince Miller, who has moved ahead of Remarcus Brown.
  • Donovan Baldwin is listed both at free safety and at cornerback, one of which I suspect is an error. I have a hard time believing he’s moved ahead of Reshad Jones.

Obviously, this is still a fluid situation. It’s hard to know how much of an impact any of the incoming freshman will have this fall, but typically at least one or two will fight their way onto the two deep. We’ll see.

UPDATE:  You can take Hebron’s name off the depth chart.  He’s been suspended for the entire 2007 season.
