My 100.

Let me say upfront here that I freely admit to stealing the theme for this post (and what’s the deal with the SEC’s “love of styrofoam”?).

Anyway, in no particular order of importance, here’s my list of 100 things I’m looking forward to in the 2007 college football season:

  1. The August 30 SEC opener, with LSU traveling to Mississippi State.
  2. The first time Spurrier yanks his visor off his head in frustration.
  3. The battle to see who progresses the most between Tebow and Stafford.
  4. The battle to see how the Big Ten Network gets carried on Comcast.
  5. How good Oklahoma State’s all-world receiver Adarius Bowman is.
  6. Which school gets labeled “this year’s Boise State” first.

  8. The Southern Cal Song Girls.
  9. Mike Bobo’s first trick play call of the season.
  10. Darren McFadden, quarterback.
  11. Mikey Henderson’s first punt return.  And probably a few more after that.
  12. Listening to the Zooker get all excited about a .500 season.
  13. Listening to Tyrone Willingham say that he’s not making Washington’s schedule an excuse for its record, while making it an excuse for its record.
  14. Watching Notre Dame struggle to become bowl eligible, while Charlie Weis hopes that someone will make Tyrone Willingham an excuse for the Irish’s record.
  15. Anything Munson has to say in the broadcast booth.
  16. LSU at Alabama.
  17. Louisville’s offense after Petrino.
  18. C. J. Spiller.
  19. Finding out whether Reggie Ball or Calvin Johnson impacted Georgia Tech’s offense more.
  20. How the soap dispensers hold up in the Hawaii locker room.
  21. Whether Noel Devine sees the field this year for West Virginia.
  22. Whether any burning couches see the field this year for West Virginia.

  27. Tennessee at California.
  28. The over/under on Gamecock quarterbacks getting into trouble at bars.
  29. Patrick Nix at Miami. Heh.

  61. Seeing if Rich Brooks is as good a coach with a +2 turnover margin as he was with a +15 turnover margin.
