Maybe Coach O should stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

From Starkville, Mississippi:

OK, maybe not.

Doomed

If you want to know how Ohio State held Michigan to 91 yards of total offense last Saturday, here’s a clue:

Per Brian at MGoBlog, that’s not a doctored pic, or a screen pass play. It’s a handoff to Mike Hart.

Not good.

Envy and jealousy: I love Georgia Tech, how ’bout you edition

If the header on this blog post isn’t the essential summation – in seven words, no less – of Tech football under Chan Gailey, I don’t know what is.

Chutzpah, ‘Bama style

Let me get this straight: you suspend a senior for a game against a Sun Belt opponent, reinstate him at halftime when things aren’t going well, top it off with a lame ass response when you get called on it… and then have the unmitigated gall to say this?

… Saban said he does not intend to change the way he handles such issues.

“I’m not going to sugarcoat it,” he said. “If we can’t win doing it the right way, then I won’t be here. That’s not going to happen.”

What exactly constitutes winning “the right way” in the mind of Nick Saban? Because if it’s anything other than scoring more points than the other team, I’m at a loss to know what he’s BS-ing about.

********************************************************************

UPDATE: Now this is obnoxious. If Kellen Winslow deservedly caught crap for his “soldier” comments, Saban ought to take some major heat for that nonsense. He’s starting to come off as a guy who’s losing it.

Now this is how you talk about a rival.

Washington defensive tackle Jordan Reffett on the Apple Cup game with Washington State:

… What his reaction would be if his toddler daughter told him in the future that she wanted to go to WSU: “I’d say ‘you’re a traitor.’ It wouldn’t be allowed. I plan to have more kids, and none of my kids will be at WSU. I want them to have a job someday.”

Hate, baby. Irrational hate. That’s what I like to hear.

I ♥ Rennie Curran.

From Ching’s blog:

… Here’s some of what Rennie had to say about the Yellow Jackets:

“I grew up with Tech players, Tech folks, I grew up around them all. It’s either one or the other when you’re growing up. You’re either a Tech fan or a Georgia fan and there’s no in between. Luckily I grew up around mostly Georgia fans. My first coach was a Georgia fan. He took me to my first Georgia game when I was like 10 years old, so Georgia football is all I knew. So once I started finding out about Tech, I wasn’t too interested in them, being a Dawg fan and knowing the hatred for Tech, being in-state.”

I hope he has thirty nine tackles on Saturday.  Thirty eight of them unassisted.
