Looking at the final SEC regular season stats, how many of you out there expected before the start of the year that Georgia would end up (1) leading the conference in sacks and (2) finishing fourth in the conference in sacks allowed?

“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
What sticks out to me is that UGA’s passing game needs improvement in terms of efficiency. It appears that UGA is hitting big plays but the consistency needs to be improved. If Stafford and the young line make comparable improvements next year like they did this year those numbers should improve siginificately. UGA’s rushing totals look very good.
Another thing is UT is basically in the bottom two-three of every defensive category listed. It does not surprise me because I watched them all year and they have looked terrible in many games defensively. What does surpise me is that a team of UT’s stature, resources and talent looked that bad.

I’ll admit it, I was wrong about Marcus Howard. Fifth in the league in sacks. All while being a 6’2″ 235 lb DE.
