Bacarri Rambo is playing the part of Josh Nesbitt as the scout team prepares the defense for the Georgia Tech triple option. He’s a natural for the role, as he spent four years in high school running the same kind of offense as Tech’s. And he knows what the key to the game for the defense is:
The key to stopping an option offense such as Tech’s, he said, “is for everybody to do their assignments. Do what the coaches tell you, and you’ll stop it.”
Anybody listening?
Play assignment football and KILL the pitch man every single play.

Where has the “’08 Sugar Bowl” defensive mentality gone?
I understand that Rambo’s just repeating talking points. But, I’d like to see some Bullodogs(other than Rennie Curran) going out there and wrapping up the ball-carrier consistently, and laying the BIG lumber whenever possible(and not out of bounds.)
I’ll use USC–the ranked one–as an example. They wrap up on almost every play. When they can cream someone, they do it. That’s why the WWL loves Mualuga and Cushing, they hit.
I just don’t see our defense putting fear in anyone anymore.
Playing solid assignments is crucial. Cracking someone’s helmet is sending a message.
GATA.

Pollack just finished talking about how important assignment football is playing against the option and how crucial the role of the DE is.
I just threw up in my mouth. Praying Pollack takes a trip to Athens to teach this Defense what GATA means.

My hope is now that Pollack is retired, he’s busy making baby Pollacks to come play for UGA 18 years from now, for the next 10-15 after that.
Space them out every 2-3 years David! 🙂

Play assignment football against Georgia Tech is the understatement of the season. Stop trying for the ultimate kill shot and just make the tackle.
I would gladly trade our entire LB corp MINUS Rennie Curran- for Rey Maualauga. That man is a beast.
While were on the subject of LBs, where in the world is Dannell Ellerbe??? I know he got hurt for few games but he has flat out disappeared!
