Give Ireland back to the Irish…

Things are just ducky in South Bend these days, doncha know.  Notre Dame manages to lose for the first time in its history to a team with eight losses, while its fans refine their snowball tossing technique.

The good news is that the Irish get away from that bad weather and those dangerous objects and travel to sunnier climes this weekend.  The bad news is that while the weather will be kinder and gentler, Southern Cal’s defense won’t.

Meanwhile, Doc Saturday suggests that Notre Dame and its fans need to accept reality:  this is Notre Dame football and it’s been that way for a while now.

It’s always hard to find the perfect metaphor, and I’m not sure one exists for Charlie’s crew, but I’ll settle for this one, courtesy of The Wiz of Odds.

The tough thing is that she did it on purpose.

Senator, I sure hope Lou Holtz doesn’t read this.

I laughed out loud when he said the Irish would win 10 or 11 games this year.

10 or 11? Come on, Lou.

Notre Dame, in the last 15 years, has averaged 7 wins and five losses, with no bowl victories. All of this under 3 different Head Coaches with 3 different styles of play. This is who they are.
