Ah, there’s nothing like those open records requests. The AP’s gotten access to 90-plus pages of correspondence between Texas Tech and Mike Leach’s agent concerning Leach’s new contract.
Aside from wanting to go all Boston College-on-steroids with Leach as to some of the terms – Leach would not only be terminated for interviewing without first getting permission, but would also have to pay a $1.5 million penalty – Texas Tech also seeks something a little strange, at least according to Leach’s representatives.
the agents objected to a provision that they said essentially gave the school the rights to Leach’s name and likeness.
I’m trying to figure out what it would want that for and I’m drawing a blank. (And, to be fair, the school denies it.) Still, I’d love to hear any suggestions.
Maybe it was for a new breakfast cereal like “Red Raider Pirate O’s”

Nebraska, it has to be a spin-off of Count Chocula, but with Pirates. I’d buy it.
