Thank you for flying AirMoreno: a few last minute thoughts

If this isn’t the essential summary of Knowshon Moreno’s game, I don’t know what is.

“This guy, he runs fast enough. The field’s not that big. If you’re on your own 10, somebody might catch him before he gets to the end zone. But if he’s at the 40 or 50, there’s no difference As long as you can get to the corner, as long as you can make a long run, which he can . . . will he finish every run? Maybe not. But he’ll finish enough of them.”

“The field’s not that big.” Kinda reminiscent of that great quote from Herschel about the ball not being that heavy.

Then there’s this.

“Plus, he’s a combative, competitive guy. He’s got to be the first guy off the ground [after a play]. I like that kind of stuff in a guy.”

Sometimes he’s the first guy off the ground during a play.

Its a long way down.

It's a long way down.

We’ll miss you, man.

The last player I was this sad to see go was Herschel. Best of luck Knowshon!

Agreed kcits.. I liked Stafford.. but LOVED Knowshon. His ability was fantastic, but beyond that, his fire and passion did a lot for the team. The kind of guy that elevates the play of everyone around him. Can’t blame him for leaving, but it still hurts to see him go. I can’t wait to see him tear up the field on Sundays now!

    You said it Senator,
I think we’ll miss Moreno more than any player we lost last year (and maybe any year since Hershel). Nevertheless I’ll have two new teams to pull for in the NFL next year.

24 is going to be great for the team lucky enough to get him. If he drops past pick 15, he’ll probably be the steal of the draft.

7 somehow someway is apparently not the Lion fan favorite in Detroit. The recession and extinction of their auto industry must have had a much deeper damaging effect on the fans’ ability to reason and think logically than previously imagined.

    • Hey, if they want to build the franchise around a LB from Wake Forest, more power to them. They’d at least be the first.

Yep. Michiganders must think that the ACC is where it’s at for quality defensive football in the South.

Apparently, Stafford’s second half in the Michigan State bowl game left no impression on any Lions fans who watched. They want a QB with a higher percentage rate of completions, damn it, not a quick-strike QB who throws long. If they pass on Stafford this year, maybe they can draft Tebow of Nazareth next year.

He reminds me more of Pollack than any other comparison with his fire & intensity. He was just fun to watch. Every time he got the ball I was just waiting for something amazing to happen.

He has to be praying Philly takes him

Perfect situation for him. Perfect offense too as he won’t be required to run up the middle 20 times a game

My favorite Knowshon play was @ GT in 2007 when he ran down Morgan Burnette and forced a fumble through the endzone. Talk about hustle. It reminded me of the magnificence that was Ben Watson running down Champ Bailey.
