A short plea

Dear Dawgs:

Please win tonight.  Not because it would be a positive to wind up with a second-place finish in the SEC East, or to build momentum towards next week’s Georgia Tech game or because it’s always nice to send the seniors off with a win in their last game in Sanford Stadium – all those things are true, of course, and would be worth enjoying – but because if you lose, we’re all going to be subjected to more nauseatingly hackish references to Uga VII’s passing as a metaphor for the game, the season and God knows what else than any of us can possibly stand, starting with the two Captain Obviouses in ESPN’s broadcast booth.

If nothing else, the poor dog deserves to go out on a better note than that.  So buckle it up and G.A.T.A.

Sincerely,

Senator Blutarsky

Yes. That, and let’s keep the nerds from using that metaphor. 1999 in Atlanta was hard enough. Let’s not revisit that.

After hearing all of the idiocy and hate coming from the Tech fans this week about Uga VII, I have a new, burning hatred for the bees. How can supposedly “more intelligent” people be so vile? I guess it’s a case of book sense over common sense. But I just don’t get it.

Yeah, I caught that. Our delusion of success, if only figments of our collective imagination, has been pretty good though, gotta admit…

At 11:12 PM, November 21, 2009, we have just witnessed the end of the Mark Richt era at UGA.

Fans are leaving in droves. We are losing to a cream puff, beyond 10th tier program. Our special teams are a joke. All of them. We are the most poorly coached college team that I have ever seen.

It is over. Apathy has set in, and we have resigned ourselves to the idea of a mediocre program under Mark Richt. It is over. I do not think he can get it back with the currently constituted staff. If he does not make sweeping changes in the coming winter, he will be fired during or after the 2010 season.

I am sad that it has come to this, I really am. At the end of the Goff and Donnan year, it was pure vitriol. This time, I am just sad.

What an embarrassing performance. On senior night. Just painful.

    Everything about that sucked.

And even though I’m going into it expecting a loss, next week will be even more painful to watch. In fact, if I can come up with something better to do, I may not even bother.

    Way to play, guys.

Disgusting. I actually think it would be symbolic justice to start someone else at QB next week for Tech. That guy is absolutely wretched, and good for 1-2 absolutely crippling plays per game.

How do we lose to Kentucky at home? How does this happen?

I can’t wait to hear defensive “you aren’t in the arena” BS from the Coach either.

Everyone in that uniform should be ashamed tonight. Absolutely ashamed.

Not just Kentucky at home, but a typically mediocre UK team that accumulated wins almost all against lousy teams and got blown out by anyone worth a snot–all without their starting QB and a bad true freshman in instead on top of it!

Thank God I didn’t buy season tickets to see this mess. They owe every fan a refund.

  11. Would it be fair to not let a single senior start the game at Tech?

This senior class has to be one of the worst classes of all time. 2006, 2008, and 2009 were absolute trash.

Wait, Bobo is the best OC we have ever had, at least according to his fans.

Bobo made some dumb calls, there’s no doubt. But they got almost 50o yards of offense. Bobo didn’t throw the INTs or fumble the ball away twice.

But someone has to be teaching these players better, and one would think Bobo is a party to that.

I still think our special teams lost this game for as as much as anything else. Worst kickoff coverage unit in the history of Georgia football, 2 fumbles on KO returns, 1 punt blocked, and absolutely no blocking on punt returns so that we cant even return a punt. We have the 2 best kickers in the nation, and our special teams is still god awful. No way can Fabris keep the special teams duties next year.

It’s kinda hard for me to believe that that 2007 season was just 2 years ago.
