Goldberg’s success on a football field is particularly perplexing to Joe Paterno.
– “Our Jewish neighbors in a walk-up on Glennview were forever playing basketball giving my ma agida. I grew up wid a kid named Saul Martzman that could dribble left handed from Euclid Avenue all the way to the cab stand on 35th” Paterno commented. “Now the krauts and the hungy’s, that was where you found some football players” he added.

Goldberg was a Psyc major and he acted crazy, a little like Ben Jones only meaner looking. He played crazy too. To quote Billy Brewer the then coach of Ole Miss “Goldberg is the craziest SOB I’ve ever seen.”

About the “thin in the secondary” issue, I’m about to come to the conclusion that Richt knows what he is doing using Gray that way.

Off the top of my head, I’d guess Hammerin’ Hank Greenberg and Sandy Koufax were in the museum with Goldberg.
