A Groh-ing fear in Tuscaloosa

No doubt this is among the lowest of low hanging fruits, but after reading the announcement that Alabama and Georgia Tech have agreed to postpone their two game series to some unspecified date in the future (I hear that 2100 is still open, boys), I knew that somebody posting on one of the Jacket message boards would have the real poop on what went down.

I wasn’t disappointed.

My friends in Tuscaloosa say Saban admitted that Bama wimped out. He said when they scheduled us they thought they’d face a Chan Gailey-caliber team, but now they don’t think they could handle us on top of their SEC schedule. They’re going to postpone the series until after Groh is too old to possibly coach our defense.

And Negative Grohmentum takes on a whole new meaning…

Al Groh? Defense? I thought Saban was afraid of that awesome, perfect option offense. Yeah, right…

That is self delusion at it’s worst. Heavy medication is in order.

I don’t know what’s funnier, reading this or the Fowler article where it seems he’s suggesting Meyer wants to punish the Gators harder but the school and AD want let him.

God, what horseshit. But then again, this is the same lot who think the reason no girl will have anything to do with them is because they are all intimidated by their high IQ’s and math skills. Yeah, that’s it.

Senator, I found a relevant passage in my recently updated version of the bible I recently bought on a business trip to Birmingham, book of Saban, chapter 22: fear thy seemingly weak opponent when their antique vehicle has no garage in which to park, their fans have no ladies with which to lay, their quarterback can not throw, and their coaching staff is in flux. This is the way of the righteous football program, do not depart from it and champions will undoubtably be born.

Tech fans remind me of the little dog in the beginning of this cartoon.

Anytime someone leads into a statement with “my friends have told me”, you know the factual support is rock solid.

I think the question that should be asked is why are you wasting your time on GT sites. Who cares what the nerds think.

Senator, do you just not want to talk about recruiting. We just got a big commit (though the kid and his dad don’t want to use the term) yesterday.

    Nothing? Why?

      Too obvious.

Talking about recruiting and getting “commits” from kids in early May seems kind of silly.

    • Two reasons, I suppose: (1) I don’t follow recruiting closely enough to add anything meaningful to what’s already out there and (2) I always prefer to wait to get excited until their names are on the dotted line.

      • I second point 2. One of my friends texted me when “it happened” all pumped. We’re his “leader.” We were leading for Da’Rick until signing day.

Comparing this kid to Da’Rick is a put down. We just got a second Aaron Murray. And if you read what he has to say about his “leader” and the kind of people he and his dad are, short of Richt or Bobo leaving, he’ll sign with UGA.

          • Prior to Da’Rick’s decommit, everybody talked about how high character he was too. I’m just saying, there’s no reason to get thrilled until the name is on the line.

I missed that one. Not saying he was a bad kid, but don’t remember anyone going on and on about his character.

This is hilarious. I love Tech fans (the same way I love those “worlds dumbest” videos).

    Yep.

Saban has to face Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, and Ole Miss every year and Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee regularly but he’s terrified of Captain Jowls and the Tickle Pile. Ok…

I love how Tech fans believe that Groh is the end-all solution to their issues and will make them a NC winner

    Right….

I remember reading some of their posts after they lost to us last year, and I shit you not, there were no less than a dozen posters consoling themselves with “I have zero doubt that Paul Johnson will have more wins than losses against UGA.”

If Tech fans can believe that, they can believe anything. Which really makes me think I need to come up with a way to profit off of their gullibility.

“My friends in Tuscaloosa say Saban admitted that Bama wimped out.”

That’s absolutely true. He did. When Tech called to beg out of the series Saban could have told them they were going to play whether they liked it or not, but he wimped out.

Classic, someone who was deliberately trying to pose as a Tech fan in order to make them sound stupid could not do a better job than they do themselves.
