Last year, Johnson and quarterbacks coach Brian Bohannon said they hope to see Nesbitt complete more than 50 percent of his passes.
Sounds like a pretty low bar to me, but then, again…
Joshua Nesbitt completed 38.5 percent of his passes in 2008, and improved to 43.9 percent last season.
And he’s got to hit Johnson’s target without his best receiver from last season coming back.

If Nesbitt had been as smart as Nick Marshall, then Josh would be getting ready to enter his this season as an early round draft pick at safety at UGA.
Instead, he let his ego get in the way, and now he better hope that he graduates from Gtu or he is going to be back in Greensboro talking about what might have been.

Do you have nothing better to do than to rip on 21 year old kids because they didn’t go to your school of choice because they had an opportunity to play their position of choice elsewhere?. I think the more telling fact is that they are trying to do this without their best receiver from last year.
Even with the 43.9% completion rate, GT had the second highest passing efficiency rating in the ACC. You could probably attribute that to the incredible season that Bebe had last year.
I know he dropped the pass against us last year, but that dude is a beast. Big, tough, fast receiver with good hands who was tough to bring down after the catch.
Unless they put Stephen Hill on a secret weight program, I think their WR production will decline.

The only reason Bebe had so many yards is because he was WIDE OPEN on every play. To stop the Nerd bone you have to put 9 or 10 in the box and that leaves single coverage on a tall dude who can catch the ball. I am not saying that he isn’t a talented player, he is very talented as evidenced by a 1st round pick in the draft. How many yards do you think that AJ would have if he only had to beat one man on every play?
