Dial this clip up to about the 7:10 mark to watch the slo-mo replay of Hines Ward’s devastating block to spring Robert Edwards in the ’97 Georgia-Florida game.
I still remember almost fainting as I watched that play happen. Good times.

“You know, Paul, I really feel like it’s because we work really hard at it. We build relationships with these kid’s families from day one. We’re well into the 2020 and 2021 classes. The entire month of January we’ve spent trying to get close to 2020 kids. I always think it’s about relationships. We dedicate a lot of our time to recruiting because it’s the lifeblood of your program. We’ve got a tremendous program to sell. When you think about the marketability and playing on national TV games and three of the biggest last five games in College Football the last two years, we’ve been in three of those games. So that’s good exposure for our program.” — Kirby Smart, Dawgs247.com, 2/6/19
Aren’t we within a decade or so of young Jaden Ward matriculating in Athens? Hope he hunkers like his dad.

Yeah, yeah, the downfield blocking was good but who was that announcer dude? I found myself listening to the entire clip twice just to bathe in that melodious sound pool. After his last couple of years, you forgot how crisp his calls were in his prime. No one ever did it better, and hearing that voice for nine minutes rather than a 30 second highlight illustrates that very clearly. Thanks for the memories.

God, I miss Larry.
Even the “black stripe” and Kirby Smart couldn’t ruin those highlights…

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only Dawg fan that hated that damn black stripe!

Damn I love the shots of Spurrier, especially at 8:31. I don’t know which is more satisfying: Spurrier in this game, or Corch and Tebow in 2007. And by the way, Spurrier’s shirt is horrible, even by UF standards.
The energy of that Georgia team and the fans was phenominal. We need that kind of confidence and swagger every time we go to Jax.
