I’m spreading a rumor I saw on another blog but why not:

((((MR. DA RICK RODGERS))))) has been confirmed by knox radio as the one arrested

According to what I read, Da Rick Rogers wasn’t the only UT ballplayer arrested. 7 players got into a bar fight and allegedly beat up (among others) an off duty cop. Also fought the cops when they arrived. Bye-bye KnoxVegas.

Also the owner of the bar is suggesting that the players all get special treatment such as free admission. Wouldn’t that be a violation of their amateur status? I mean they are receiving benefits not available to other students based solely on their participation in football. In fact the bar in question seems to be trading on the fact that the players are there on thursday to generate more revenue for a place that sells booze…call me crazy, but I dare say if the NCAA was already sniffing around a story like this can’t help and speaks to an out of control institution.

How much influence does his high school buddy’s carpet dealing daddy have in Knoxville? I bet he will have to pay more than his gets in scholarship $$ to make this go away.

Excuse me while I try again …

How much influence does Rogers’s high school buddy’s carpet dealing daddy have in Knoxville? I bet the dad will have to pay more than his own son gets in scholarship $$ to make this go away.

I love the comments section in that first article. The USC fans are basically saying that all those guys leaving frees up schollys for others. Um, aren’t they limited in how many they can give out now? Are you REALLY sure none of those guys would have never seen the field?
