As controversy swirls over the program in the wake of the Bar Knoxville Brawl – player arrests, suspensions and at least one dismissal being the start and a potential NCAA major or secondary violation being perhaps the finish – you can’t help but be impressed with the way that athletic director Mike Hamilton has taken charge of the situation and become the face of the program.

… Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley served as the university’s lone voice Friday when he provided a statement that did not address looking into Bar Knoxville’s “VIP status,” but sources told the Times Free Press that Morton’s claims already are being investigated.
Athletic director Mike Hamilton did not return messages from the Times Free Press…

Seriously, after everything that’s gone on in the past eighteen months, how is this man still gainfully employed by the University of Tennessee? Has he got pictures of someone in a compromising situation?
If I were a UT fan, I’d be seriously thinking about buying the man a couple of drinks and planting orange panties in his car.

I’m sure they(Hamilton) are just putting the pieces together trying to sort the whole thing out. I bet Adams was glad that he was on vacation during Damongate and had time to put his finger in the air and see which way the wind was blowing. On another note. My pal- the Vol fan, sent plenty of texts my way during DE’s unfortunate crash and burn… will not respond to my texts. Is ATT having problems in Knoxville? My wife and his are still able to text. Karma.

Damned police! Where do they get off protecting citizens and enforcing the laws on the book? Probably wearing jackboots and totally unaware of them just being boys, or their tough home life, or cultural indifference to obeying our laws. Hopefully Eric Holder will come down and sue the local police for this obvious abuse of their authority.

Obviously not the legality of the two, but after reading the anti-law enforcement comments yesterday and the “reach” of those I don’t see it as a stretch at all. We sunk to charges of Nazism and racism very quickly there. And already there is a “we have all been there” comment on this thread. Personally, if the charges against DJ are true, I would hope he is gonzo. As for TK, while I would support a roll back to the 18 year old drinking age, he should get 3-5 games just for pathetic judgement. Too many of our athletes are not taking disciplinary rules currently in place very seriously. I would rather play, and count on, those who do.

Studies have shown that four out of five athletes as well as anyone between the ages of 18 and 22, would respond to the ‘reasonable grasp of cause and effect’ concept by grasping at something else and MDWM.

How many of us went a little wild after leaving home & experiencing the freedom of college life ?
No excuse but some of this is going to happen. It is not recruiting thugs but it is about making students & athletes aware of the consequences of their actions if & when they are caught. I expect UGA & CMR to handle all infractions swiftly & fairly. Hopefully others will learn from the results.

So when can we expect more than 2 of the 10 folks involved in beating up a cop to get arrested? TK is drunk in the passeneger seat of a car (GASP!) and gets arrested and fans here are calling for 3-5 game suspension for him… yet in KnoxVegas litereally 80% of the participants in a massive beatdown have suffered no legal ramifications.
