So how dire is that Tennessee QB situation, anyway?

This dire:  Tony Barnhart can’t even bring himself to rank the Vols’ bunch higher than the worst quarterback I saw in conference play last year (Larry Smith).

    Uncle Rico is available.

UT will start Simms, he will get the crap beaten out of him and UT will lose some games. Then UT will start Bray later in the season, he will have some success because the schedule gets easier and Bray will be hailed as the savior of the program.

The Derek-Ness Key Factor # 3 for malcontents wanting releases

    – handle it as a “professional” –

seems to teach that those remaining, including the qb’s and others, should be alright if they act professionally.

However, those who could not escape from Knoxville would also like an enumeration, and would settle even for an alphabetization, of Key Factors from Derek the Punisher (having learned the importance of Process as an excuse for anything from his mentor Nick the Magnificent), just like those who want to escape have:

“As with the other players who have asked for a release, I went through the same process with the same criteria with Bryce,” Dooley said. “These are the three key factors – what their personal investment into the program was, did they have their heart into it and did they give it a good, fair shot. No. 2, the harm that their departure creates for the organization. No. 3, how they handle it as a professional.”
