That hot seat just keeps getting hotter.

Marc Weiszer reports that the NCAA released single-year Academic Progress Rates for Division I head coaches in six sports, including football and basketball, today.

This will get your blood boiling:

UGA’s Mark Richt’s ranks 1st among SEC fb coaches with 966.8 average APR.

There’s got to be somebody out there who can do better than that.

With the resources he has available, I think anything below 980 is grounds to be fired. And, what is this “.8” bullshit? You couldn’t finish the drill and get to a round number?!? Fire the entire offensive coaching staff for being incapable of scoring that additional .2 points.

    “966.8 average APR.”

That’s almost the same APR on that payday loan Gary Coleman hooked me up with after they shifted the decimal point one space to the right.

We continue to underperform. How much more of this can we take? Fire’em all!

Richt, Oakley Split Jackets on, LaCoste shirt buttoned-up high and tight like a Charlie Strong, water mocassassin cold-blooded single-digit pulse rate and unflappable as usual, gets word from what’s-his-name, the temporary AD, that odds now are his team could actually stay in a brain bowl with a Texas or the PAC whatever or the Big whatever. Richt gets fired up hearing this which necessarily means that his pulse rate drops even lower than it was before.

When asked by the Jimmy Olson’s what the secret is, Richt said he lures his team into a big room with mesmerizing false promises that study hall with two turntables and microphone is where it’s at!

But he says he really just has CTG lock them inside with no sound when they get there so maybe they’ll study if they don’t cut up too bad and they usually don’t with Rodney standing guard and Lakatos on the perimeter

  8. Senator, where were you in 62. I was in Athens leading the life depicted in “Animal House”. Regrets = None. Let the good times roll.

This measure is called academic “progress”. Before we get too carried away, bear in mind we must have started with guys with lots of room to improve.

Hog, the progress refers to progress toward earning a degree. The score reflects how many players are on schedule to graduate.
