So much for the forgotten man: less than a week after I posted my best wishes for Quintin Banks this season, Seth Emerson reports that Banks has elected not to continue his playing career, although he will stay with the team as a student coach. I’m sorry to see the end to his time on the field.
On the plus side, Branden Smith is academically eligible again.

I hate it for him. Never could seem to stay healthy. Not once have I ever heard a bad thing about him and I wish him the best in the future (possibly as a coach?).

I remember the recruitment of Banks/Jones and how awesome they were going to be. I guess sometimes it’s not in the cards, but maybe he’ll make a great coach.
