Investigative journalism at its finest

For once, I can understand why Urban Meyer treats the local media with contempt.

… When asked about it [Renee Gork’s firing] following Tuesday’s practice, Meyer said he wasn’t aware of the situation and asked for some details.

“What did she do? Wore a Gator hat?,” Meyer said.  “I don’t get it. ”

When reporters gave him a thorough explanation, Meyer responded: “It’s really hot outside.”

Yeah, the weather.  Outdoors.  As in, “maybe you assholes ought to go check that out.”

Uh oh. Meyer’s on the hot seat. He feels it.

    • Oh, my. Someone on a blog somewhere that I read very recently (I don’t remember where) said that, get this, “Urban Meyer is on the hot seat, and he knows it and his days are numbered and hot-seated.”
It was on a reputable blog and they didn’t call him Corch Irven Meyers, so that’s how you know it’s true.
      Pass it on.

Supposedly she wore the hat because it was raining but don’t let that stop you Corch.

As long as Corch is an angry man, he’ll never be able to enjoy his success.

I didn’t realize the name was Gork. I guess she gorked that one out to the right.

Of course the Corch doesn’t get it. One of the first rules when you have a complaisant media supporting your program is to act like you had no idea that it was happening.

I can understand Corch Meyers’ confusion. He’s been at Florida for what, now… five years? Six? He’s so used to reporters wearing Gator gear to practices, he probably thinks all reporters everywhere do it.

    Please.

If some media member wore an Arkansas hat to a UF practice she’d be banned from the swamp for life.
