I’ve grown weary of hearing this:
“Didn’t do a good job of getting us ready to play. Didn’t do a good job of executing and that falls on me as a coach,” Bobo said. “Moved the fall well but didn’t finish. And you can’t finish, you can’t win in this league. And that’s about how we’ve been in three games in this league, basically.”
Georgia’s offense had the ball inside the Mississippi State 20 on three occasions in the first half, but only got six points out of it.
“I didn’t think they slowed us down in the first half at all,” Bobo said. “And to only get six points was disappointing. You can’t have turnovers and you can’t have penalties, and that’s coaching. That’s our fault.”
Save the pity party for somebody who’s dumb enough to believe that you’ve learned something from tonight.
The truly sad thing is the waste of Aaron Murray’s playmaking talent.

The waste of playmaking talent, especially when so much of the blame seems to be on the “most experienced Oline in the country” is awful.
I am completely sold on Murray, especially after his third down run where he took the hit and stretched out for the extra yard to get the first around the 22.

What about the busted play where he made like 3 different Miss. St. players miss on the way to getting about 10 yards and converting a 3rd and long?

Murray is playing his off and I really don’t think Bobo has any idea how to fix our problems on offense.
One of our biggest problems on offense is play calling and Bobo complains about execution, preparation, turnovers, and penalties. You gotta be fucking kidding me. The guy’s clueless. We didn’t finish well? Think that maybe us having a toss that works followed by running a 160 lb tailback between the tackles into a loaded box was an execution problem? Or maybe that was not finishing. At least he didnt blame Murray this week.

Should definitely say that Murray “playing his ass off.” I apologize for not finishing, but my iphone wasn’t executing and there were probably a few penalties and turnovers along the way.

We are in full bore, CYA-mode now…you will only hear quotes that do not incriminate anyone and serve to make one accessible to another coaching staff throughout the rest of the year…
I have a sneaking suspicion that Searels is the only coach on the staff who gives a rat’s ass at this point, and I doubt that will last much longer…the ship is capsizing and the rats are looking for a safety raft to grab on to….I am so sad that it has come to this…

Hmmmm….just think about it like this…maybe you have never had the misfortune of working for a poorly run company, but some of us have….you spend every day thinking about what you can do better to help the overall company, but late at night, you realize that there are just too many ingrained problems for you be able to help….Searels is the only coach on the staff with a prove track record of sustained success at the SEC level…at some point, no matter how much pride you have, you realize you are on a sinking ship, cut your losses and start networking to get a new gig ASAP…Mike Bobo is a fucking dumbass, and Searels is probably mystified by the fact that he has to answer to such an idiot…it makes it REALLY hard to do a quality job, and I think CSS saw the writing on the road last spring and will get a really good job in December…

Searles has been sounding the alarm with Richt for 3 years about how weak our kids are but Richt backed Van Hal instead of Searles & nothing changed.
Result? We’re now the worst team in the SEC. Searles is the only coach (offensively) worth a damn and that includes Richt.

When CMR first showed up I thought that there was a noticeable increase in the effort level. The team played hard–harder than the same players had played under Donnan. That has disappeared. Some, not all, of the current crop appear to be mailing it in. When you couple the effort level with the off the field problems, that really gives one pause to believe that the coaches really do not have control right now. It appears that some of the players think that simply being a 4 or 5 star recruit is all that it takes–all they need to do is show up and they will automatically win. The team needs to identify who the troublemakers on the team are and get rid of them. Paraphrasing what Bobby Bowden said recently about what happened at FSU, we need to find guys who really want to play football for UGA instead of 4 and 5 star recruits who think they did the university a favor by going there and are more worried about where they will be going in the NFL Draft than about winning games and championships for UGA.

Aaron Murray is a stud. Thank God for him and Durham. Without the two of them we’d be .5-3.5. Murray is a lights out baller. It’s got to make him sick to see this shit going on…maybe he needs to be the one to start busting some balls. Apparently no one else will.
BTW-Anyone else noticed that Grantham hasn’t dressed anyone down on the sideline since the ULL game? Maybe he was told that wasn’t acceptable on the UGA sidelines

Man, I love this blog, but worry about the potential apathy that could lead it to become the NY Mets’ blog of the college football blogosphere…at least a lot of us are going to be PISSED OFF the rest of the season…if changes are not made 2011 will be “THE YEAR OF APATHY”

Bobo needs to Gogo.
Someone needs to go wake up Van Halanger and tell him he’s fired.
CSS and CRG most likely need to go as well.
With the exception of the new coaches hired this off season, and MAYBE Richt, the rest all need to go.
Then Richt has 1-2 years to show massive improvement, and competing for an SEC title.

Man, love the enthusiasm, but we just lost to Scu, Arkansas and Miss St back-to-back-to-back…throw Ole Miss in there and you have the suck-ass perfecta of SEC squads…this is not survivable…the gig is up…hope CMR is willing to be as good a man as he always has been and take what the UGA AA is willing to offer as a buyout….if he is expecting to get paid off for the rest of his contract, he is not the man we thought he was…had the chance to kick Ealey off the team when the punk defied him before the season, didn’t do it and sealed the fate of his coaching career…Ealey has made the game-losing play in every game this year….

Mark apparently didn’t think Jim Donnan’s end was tied to his handling of 2 players Jasper and Quincy. We know the GT thing was big but Quincy’s hand injury when he was wasted was the thing that Adams used, that and the double secret payoff.

We could have Ingram and still not be able to run the ball. The problem is repetive play calling and an AWFUL offensive line. Also im not blaming Ealy for the fumble, he got rocked and was obviously staggerd. Last week was on him though and i believe King is the better back.

I realize that everybody (including me) is venting right now, but somebody please enlighten me on something that I thought was an absolutely critical thing that happened in the game. Ealey is going in for the Dawgs tying TD in the first quarter when he gets his helmet knocked off while being hit by 2 MSU D-backs. He fumbles. An MSU player pounces on the ball in the end zone for a toughback. I thought the enlightened NCAA came up with a rule that when a player’s helmet comes off the play is dead–period. This was to prevent injury by the play continuing on with a player being in the play with no helmet on. How come the play wasn’t blown dead with UGA having the ball at the 1 yard line? Senator, or anyone else who is a Rules guru, please tell me.

reference: spot in 1st quarter of UGA/Scu game 2 weeks ago, when Scu player was CLEARLY 1+ yards short of 1st down, but was awarded 1st down, AFTER REVIEW….

Many other examples since late October 2007, but, the point is, if there is a call that “could be made” that would favor UGA, it ain’t going to happen….

Thanks for the info, Senator. Can I prevail upon you to also comment on the prevalence of helmets flying off this year in college football games. I watch a lot of games–not just UGA games–and it seems that a helmet is now coming off on damn near every play. I remember in the recent past when it was highly unusual for a player to lose his helmet during play. I sometimes went an entire season without seeing a Dawgs player lose his hat. Now it happens so regularly it is the norm, not the exception. And it is affecting play. The Ealey fumble, for instance. He is right there and could have possibly recovered the ball in the end zone but had no helmet on. Somebody is going to get seriously injured or killed unless this problem is fixed, particularly if the CFB rule is that play continues.

Here’s the thing. I am 99.9% positive that play was blown dead, and so yes, even though it was a fumble, that play should have never been up for review because neither team has recovered the ball when the whistle blew and the ref was gesticulating that Ealey was down.

Meg, you are absolutely right. That is the “inadvertent whistle” business that we all have seen so many times before, not just in UGA games, too. The ref blew the whistle and indicated that Ealey was down BEFORE the MSU player fell on the ball. The play was dead. Also, as you correctly pointed out, that is an unreviewable situation. No TV ref should have even looked at it. The ball should have been UGA’s, first and goal at the 1.

That is also why the refs were originally instructed to treat every loose ball as a fumble–so as not to whistle one dead.
I don’t know what happened to that a approach, but it was a sound rule.

This is really only happening in UGA games with UGA players. Medical staff has looked into this and discovered that the rapidly diminishing brain mass causes the head to shrink and thus helmets pop-off. Evidence of this can be seen via STUPID PLAYING PERFORMANCE.
A follow-up study is being conducted on UGA coaching staff having their headsets suddenly drop around their necks…..

Last night’s loss is the offense’s responsibility. The defense held up its end as long as possible. I know those are obvious points but they need repetition.
The loss was because of poor play calling and lots of little things done wrong. We run a playbook like an NFL team in the mid 60’s. Two runs and a pass.
Mike Bobo was pacing. The results look like he couldn’t think under pressure on more than a superficial level. Mike may be overmatched as a coordinator, but he’s a good QB coach.
With respects to the Senator, last year’s SEC scoring average may be too small a sample to draw a conclusion about Bobo’s skills.
Washaun Ealey may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I wonder if he had his bell rung on the end zone fumble. He just stared at the ball. Football players are taught to dive on the ball from pee wee days.
Baccari Rambo is accumulating a nice collection of bonehead plays. The punt turnover is the latest one.
Tim Couch gets a dufus award blaming the holding call for ruining Durham’s TD. Sorry folks, the holding sprung Durham for the TD.

We were looking for a gut check in this game and it was not there. Offense looks like they are hearing about these plays for the first time in the game. We can’t pick up the blitz, we can’t get a safety value player open, we were bulldozed by a so so DL. On the D side Mullens looked like Urban and called a good game. We are trying to play an assignment type D with a bunch of undisciplined free lancers. We have the easiest D to trick in the world and as much as I don’t miss Willie these guys were doing the same thing to him. If CMR would let CTG actually do his thing I think he could get their attention. The safeties are just as I described above they are lose cannons and they don’t even bring the heat like Blue did. Blue was a lose cannon too but when he connected he would punish. Not our guys they just thud, I wonder who makes them do that.
I also suspect that CTG, Belin and Laktoss had no idea how weak physically our team is. If CSS and CTG both have a problem with it I wish Van would fall on his sword for CMR cause Mark aint going to fire him. How about clearing out the rest of the damn coaching legacies that UGA loves so much.
