Wingin’ it.

Derek Dooley isn’t going to bring the maximum number of players he’s allowed to bring for a road game (70!) and he’s not going to bother with a Friday walk through at Tiger Stadium, even though he acknowledges that almost half of his team has never played at that venue before.

I’ve got to admit that’s different.  Maybe he’s hoping it’ll rattle LSU’s field goal kicker.

That’s why he was so successful going into BCS-conference stadiums when he was head coach at Louisiana Tech!

    Wait… he wasn’t? Oh…

Just watching UT, it is pretty shocking to see how bad they are.

They really are a team with a slew of nobody’s

He should use the Normal Dale approach. “120 x 53. I think you’ll find it’s the same measurements as your field back in Knoxville.”

Honestly, I don’t know how important experience in a hostile venue really is, and doing a walkthrough probably doesn’t help much. Of course, I never played college ball or anything, so if any former players say otherwise, I’m open to correction.

I kind of agree. Let’s face it: UT has two chances to beat LSU there, slim and none, and slim doesn’t feel very good. A walk through is as likely to get them worrying about it and let the venue get into their heads as it is to actually be useful. Without it, they can play loose and keep it close for a half.

As far as numbers go, if a player hasn’t earned the opportunity to go then do not take him.

It can be a good motivational tool.

Derek knows that stadium and his team well. I expect Tennessee to play hard and give LSU a tougher game than they expect.

Jordan Jefferson is almost as big a handicap for the LSU offense as Bobo is to our offense.
The difference is I think the Vols couldn’t score on LSU’s D if they had 8 quarters to play.

Crazy… like a fox! Or something like that. Double-D is getting weirder and weirder.

Also, I think he said half his team has never been on a football road trip before (!)… NONE of them has ever played at Tiger Stadium.

Precious only has to wait one more week until our Georgia Bulldogs make him a shoo in for SEC coach of the year. Chris Simms little brother will get his place in the sun as the SEC Offensive player of the week and we will hear what an underrated team UT is. It’s all so predictable and yet I’m traveling 600 miles to Athens just to watch it unfold. Oh well I’m just a glutton for punishment.
