I don’t think there’s any question at this point in the 2010 season that from top to bottom, the SEC West is far superior to the East.
- Alabama. A 25-point evisceration of Florida by a team which offense was described by Gary Danielson as having lost interest during the second half is, well, scary.
- Auburn. Pretty much a process of elimination pick this week, but Phil Steele’s preseason call that two undefeated teams would meet in the Iron Bowl stands a respectable chance of happening.
- LSU. Technically, the Tigers lead the SEC West today. Yeah, I know how sorry they looked on Saturday, but this team is undefeated against a five-game slate of BCS conference-only opponents. The quarterback situation is killing them, though.
- Arkansas. Another process of elimination pick. The Hogs played Alabama closer than Florida did, so here they go.
- Florida. They’d rank higher with a healthy Jeff Demps, but he ain’t and they don’t.
- South Carolina. If they want to win the East, a win Saturday night would be a huge step towards that.
- Mississippi State. Big drop from sixth to seventh. They haven’t lost a game they shouldn’t, so that makes them the kings of the lower tier for now.
- Vanderbilt. They probably don’t belong here, but that win against Ole Miss still retains just enough of a cachet for me to rank them ahead of the Rebels one more week.
- Ole Miss. They can score, but they can’t stop anybody. Still, they’ve got a conference win, which is more than you can say for the bottom feeders in the East.
- Kentucky. We’ll always have Kentucky. We didn’t have; we lost it until they came to Oxford. We got it back last Saturday.
- Tennessee. There’s no place for moral victories in a power poll, Vols. You have a great chance to fix that this Saturday, though.
- Georgia. You could have made a lot of money putting down a bet in the preseason that the loser of the Georgia-Tennessee game would be the only team in the SEC without a win over a BCS conference opponent at the mid-season point.

At this point in the season, I am not surprised by anything! The losses to the Cocks and Hogs, while painful, were expected. The L’s to the other Dogs and Buffs felt like open heart surgery without anestesia! I am now numb to their ineptness. Now comes UT.

I think Kentucky is waaaay underrated. Sure, they lost to a Nutt, but they’re ranking pretty high on a number of stats.

Bama looked pretty good this weekend. USC is definitely a trap game. Julio is hurt. I am truly worried about USC.
Georgia fans, please don’t get completely despondent. You guys will win the next 3 games. Richt hasn’t just forgotten how to coach. Of all years, believe it or not, I like you guys’ chances against Florida. They look very vulnerable this year. Meyer is still trying to run a Tebow offense, except Tebow is not going to be able to play. It looks as awkward as when Chris Leak tried to run it.

Watchin’ the game in Boulder at ground level, I can confidently say Georgia is the worst team in the Big XII too.
But don’t worry.
When the students got on the field, I bit Mrs. Hawkins in the shorts, humped the denim leg of a fine Buffs co-ed, and left Colorado a small trophy in appreciation of their winning effort.
I figured what the hell. You don’t have to tell me nothin’. I know the end of my 15 minutes of fame is drawing near.
This Sattidy, as soon as Charles turns to talk to some kid, I’m takin’ off and gettin’ after that flea-bitten hound’s @$$.
And it will get ugly quick.
