A tasteful musical interlude

I guess I’m inspired by this comment thread from yesterday.

In case you’ve never heard it (or even if you have), here’s the full version of the greatest college football song ever performed, in all its six-plus minutes of glory.

Minister of the New New Super Heavy Funk, indeed.

Mr. McGarity, you really need to bring this back to Sanford Stadium.  We shouldn’t keep the family treasures buried in the rear of the closet.

If you haven’t read this article or heard about the lawsuit, you should take a moment to read. It’s both funny and a bit sad at the same time.

I remember hearing it as I walked to games with my father and brother down River Road by the fraternity houses. I was in eighth grade at the time it came out.

As you walked toward the stadium. It would be at different parts of the songs as we walked along. Just blaring out of those speakers they dragged outside. I remember in the closing moments of the ’75 GA/Fla game, Larry Munson said, “Hey James Brown, sing that Junkyard Dog thing.” That was a great era. Good times.

    This post made my morning.

This is what it was like leaving Jordan-Hare last weekend. Different parts of town and campus were on different parts of “All I Do is Win”. Different parts would get quiet at different points.

If a 6-6 (hopefully) season is what keeps us from being associated with that song, it might be okay. After all, “Crank That” is so much better, anyway.

I was in about the 4th grade, and we parked on River Road as well. I remember the exact same thing.

I’m with you, DW. This song brings back great childhood memories. I’d love to hear this at the stadium during a break. Throw a bone to us old folks!

That reminded me of the song “Hunker down hairy dogs…hunker down for a fight!” The Senator took us down memory lane today “Sports Fans”. Does anyone remember that we only had -one- pass completion against ND and still won the thing? My youngest son (Fresh/UGa) often complains that we had the best rock and roll , the best cars, and the best Dawg songs! I believe he is correct.

    This made my year.

“Leadership, respect, and a great man in Joel Eaves.” Shoutout by JB to the athletic director. Them boys in the booth will haul right off and slap ya.

Any song written about our defense in the past two years would have to be either a sad country or blues tune.

Does anybody know how to get this song on the iTunes?

Toon was gracious enough to send me all the Crosby Clisby I can handle. I’ve also got Nathan Shepard’s “Damn Good Dawg.” Along with The Beatles “Hey, Bulldog,” Elton John “Saturday Night’s Allright for Fighting,” and Geo. Clinton, et. al. “Atomic Dog” along with assorted Redcoats on the playlist. I’d love to get this one, too.

Being from Augusta, I don’t have the awe that most do for JB.

Let’s just say we know the skeletons in his closet (besides his own).

But that’s a great track, nonetheless, and I’m sure no other team can match it.
