Typo of the week

From the AJ-C’s transcript of this week’s Paul Johnson presser comes this:

On the mental and physical toughness of the team
“I think it is a process. Some individuals have that toughness and some do not. You are always striving to be tougher. I don’t think there is one thing that you can lay on. We are 5-5, we haven’t been as successful as we have liked to be, but there isn’t one thing that you can’t point to. I think it is a myriad of things. I had a guy tell me last night that we had an easy schedule. Either I am from planet Krypton, or I don’t get it. We have had to play North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech and Georgia on the road and to me that is not an easy schedule. If you look at our schedule, we lost to Kansas which is a bad loss. Clemson is the only other team that we lost to that is not fighting for a conference championship or isn’t going to win eight or nine games. There is a lot of parody, but there are also some good teams. Talent wise, Miami was the best team that we have played all year based on who they had. I am not trying to rationalize, I am not happy on where we are. But it is what it is.”  [Emphasis added.]

I’m fairly certain Johnson said “parity” there, but maybe Doug Roberson’s watched a lot more ACC football this year than Johnson has.  Parody works for me.

By the way, nice to see the coach in touch with his fan base with that planet Krypton reference.

The fade pattern is going to be a bitch.

If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s what one of the end zones looks like for the Illinois-Northwestern game this Saturday at Wrigley Field:

This is what you get when somebody who hasn’t played a down of football in his life has one of those “wouldn’t it be cool if…?” moments.
