Tennessee and Florida having as many as they do is a little concerning.

I don’t know, I don’t put much credit into All-Freshmen teams. It’s more about the guys that were fortunate to come into a situation where they could start. The possible exception would be Lattimore, who beat out some guys older than him to get the job. I don’t want to take anything away from Murray’s season, because it was spectacular, but we don’t really know if he is the best freshman QB in the conference. Maybe some stud is waiting behind Ryan Mallet and will throw 45 TD’s next year. Nobody really knows. It’s concerning that guys and Florida and Tennessee are getting good experience, but my thinking is that it is more because they were forced to turn to freshmen, and not because the freshmen were just absolute studs.

Tyler Bray of Tennessee is Murray’s only competition among SEC freshmen quarterbacks, IMO. Connor Shaw is also pretty good for South Kerlina.

If Tyler Bray doesn’t put on some weight, I don’t see him surviving, let alone playing, the entire season next year. That dude is a stick.

I agree completely. And I wouldn’t trade Aaron Murray for anything. I just meant that Bray is about the only other freshman QB in the SEC worth mentioning.

It’s the getting good experience that concerns me. Just like with Aaron Murry (and a fine wine) they’re only going to get better with age. There’s no doubt UT had to use freshman but odds are that’ll pay off in the long run.

Well, not to knock Kwame or anything, but…I think that Kenarious Gates and Xander Ogletree were more deserving. But I guess 6’6″ 325 looks impressive on paper. And yeah, Barkevious should have been a Dawg!

You think I don’t get that? My comments in this blog have always been in response to someone else’s, go back and look, I don’t initiate. At the same time, the impending crisis we face is due to ignorance by many who think the problems are simply “political”. An informed electorate woud never have allowed this to happen. We are way past political differences, the nation is polarized like never before thanks to leftist fools. The consequences of their efforts will be seen soon, and there is nothing funny about what that means.
So no, I don’t let things slide, however unpleasant that may be. It is a shame some, not saying that particular poster, choose to bring politics onto a football board. His comment was actually clever, but it did invoke a very bad image. This board is a lot more impressive for it’s football content than it’s political intellect. That is both surprising, and distressing to me. Don’t really care if you agree with my politics or not, I am past wasting time on those who deliberately choose to be the other guy. The rest of us have to make our own choices on how to best protect ourselves, part of that is not allowing “the bad guys” to go unchallenged any longer. Look where those decades of propaganda have led us.

Good, you seem untrainable anyway (and lost). Just to make the point again, I NEVER began any of those discussions….not one. Since you seem to miss the entire point before your wittle, bitty, sensitive feelings about your shortcomings took over: there is a huge difference, KG seems to have talent, thankfully. That is a huge difference. I am sure the OP meant it lightly, as was my response. You seem to be the only person who can’t take the real truth behind all of that. Grow up, because it’s gonna get much worse for you. Look for some solvent to get the embarrassing bumper sticker off your car. It went horribly wrong, learn from it.
Oh, and like the “free speech” stuff you probably don’t like either that is tearing your head off, just turn the dial and/or skip my posts. I will feel much cleaner knowing you aren’t in the audience.

When will you get? Virtually all of my posts are exclusively about CFB, the ones that are not are replies to someone who makes a commnet about politics. Sound familiar? Note YOU are the one wno seems bothered, no one else is caught up in this exchange. As I said before, this comment was meant mostly in jest (majority are already aware anyway), but you seem to have a sensitivity far greater than others. I don’t start fights, but I damn sure don’t run from them these days, the consequences of ignoring significant issues have proven too costly.

If Murray does get better, it will suprise me. Not because he is not good or Bobo won’t do a good job. There is just not that much more room to go. If he plays like he did this year for the next three I will be extremely pleased. He is a great QB already and made some wonderful plays with his leg and his arm.

Excellent point. He was incredible this year. That said, I think what you might see with respect to Murray improving will come from Bobo. I can still remember standing in the concession line at halftime in Columbia telling my buddies that if we were going to win that game it was going to be because Bobo opened up the playbook (never happened). Murray will be off the charts if and when we completely take off the training wheels.

I agree. If he throws it more he will put up more yards, tds, etc. But, his efficiency stats will go down because of the amount of times he throws it. Plus, I love him as a QB I just don’t know if he is the throw it 40 times a game kind of QB. He may be but I think he fits our system very well.

You guys are dead on, his progression will not look like other QBs, not but one way to go. I would settle for 3 more statistical seasons that are just in the neighborhood of this one.
