Thanks, but I’ll wait for the movie to come out.

I’m not shocked by the allegation that Craig James’ agent may have been at the heart of the pay problems that resulted in SMU getting the death penalty.  But Craig James wrote a book?

Best review I found at Amazon:

This review is from: Game Day: A Rollicking Journey to the Heart of College Football (Hardcover)

Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t have a “zero-star” option. Worst gift I received this Christmas. Totally sucked.

I don’t know about you, but if somebody gave me a Craig James book for Christmas, I’d have to seriously reevaluate my relationship with that person.

Craig James is a sad individual. Not even SMU would pay him to play. There’s Eric Dickerson running around campus in his brand spankin’ new Trans-Am while Craig James has to take the bus. If you look him up on wiki you’ll note that his nickname is “Pony” because riding the coattails of Dickerson is the greatest thing that has ever happened to him in his life.

Was James’ manuscript edited by a 14-year-old girl on a Blackberry? Who lets someone use multiple exclamation points at the end of a sentence?

Then again, I guess I should give him kudos for having written an entire book, especially considering that up until today, I wouldn’t have given him credit for having read one.

I have a friend whose brother gives him a CD each year that expresses how his life is going. He knew he’d hit rock-bottom when he received The Carpenter’s Greatest Hits .

    This might be worse …

His creative and excessive use of exclamation marks might make prove to be a new groundbreaking literary style.

Or he writes like a 14 year old girl.

    Either way.

    Moral flexibility…
“I took money, just not directly from a coach…”
“These were good people who knowingly broke the rules….”
“What they did was wr0ng, but I took their money anyway because their hearts were in the right place…”
“I followed my gf to school, not the scholly, benefits, etc…..”
“I can comment on the problems with CFB, because I participated in the most egregious ones…”
“Leach was the problem, not me or my son….”

    Total tool!!!!!!

i love college football, so i bought this book myself. it is every bit as awful as one could imangine. there is a section in the book where he explains how parents should constantly pester coaches so their children can get scholarships
