A fate worse than death

Nick Saban casts out Al from Dadeville from the ranks of the Tide faithful:

“We are truly saddened by this destructive behavior from an individual who certainly does not represent our institution, our program, or our fans in any way. It is important that we continue to respect one another in the spirit of good sportsmanship for many years to come.”

Given his mindset, I’m not sure anything the criminal justice system doles out will be a greater punishment for Harvey Updyke than Saban turning his back on him.

Actions have consequences.

I’m not discounting the hangover effect from a 6-7 season, but when a school goes out of its way to make the game day experience both more expensive and less enjoyable, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to many.
