Envy and jealousy, Tatgate edition

If cynical sarcasm were an Olympic event, Ray Ratto would be wearing a gold medal now.

A taste:

It’s because college sports runs on two things: Money, and the right to say to your neighbor wearing the different color sweater, “See? Your guys are cheaters too.”

Ahh, knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing…

Ratto is a miserable fat sack. I’m not sure I’ve ever anything he’s ever written that made me think he isn’t so completely cynical that he’s miserable every day he has to think about sports.

I think he summed it up nicely thank you. The comments on that blog are hillarious. I love the tOSU bucknut fans talking about how no rules were broken.

Especially the guy who said they self-reported it in January. Wow what a coincident right after the Sugar Bowl.

Wow, a day that I wholeheartedly agree with Ray Ratto. Let me look out my window at the raining frogs now.

Let’s say the same scenario happened to UGA in 2011. 12-1 season, Sugar Bowl, etc. Same details discovered following the season. What is the maximum punishment given to UGA that you would support?

I would be fine with the entire season being vacated, trophies returned, etc. I would want Richt and McGarity (if it was revealed he too was involved in the cover-up) fired immediately (easy call). I would be OK with a 1-year death penalty for the program, and I wouldn’t really argue with 2.

    • I don’t know about the death penalty, but the rest wouldn’t bother me.

The only thing I’d add would be that whoever the guilty parties were should be subject to a “show cause” status by the NCAA, so that it would be hard for the next school to hire them.

  6. tOSU fans should be called BLOCKEYE’S or BLACKEYE’S rather than Buckeye as they are an insult to those poor white tails.

  7. BLINDEYE’S instead of buckeye’s will also be appropriate since they obviously turning a blind eye to the sins of their program.

Have Gee and Tressel been taking lessons from Adams?

  9. Whiskeydawg

The NCAA has just informed Tressel he can’t wear a sweater vest to any 2011 game. Apparently the man is at home now on his knees in tears, completely broken. Those guys at the NCAA, they really know how to hurt you.

  10. Cojones

After the statement by Gee, the school is now known as JTU.

All us glaucoma patients would object to BLINDEYE although I am thinking of little sweater vests to be used as eye patches. DUCKEYE might be more appropriate.

You can say anything you wish about their program, but I just want their car rental franchise.
