Not sure why he keeps addressing the issue. He’s already won over the people that matter, President Gee-Whiz-The-Football-Coach-Knows-My-Name, the NCAA, and the Ohio State fanbase. And, pretty much nothing he says is going to sway everyone else who sees through his BS (and mostly hated Ohio State to begin with). So what’s to be gained? Just shut up and accept that you no longer get to have your honest reputation. Considering what could (should?) have happened to you, it’s a small price to pay.

“I made a mistake that I’m very sorry for”

A mistake? Not exactly an apology for lying and being duplicitous.

When my 3 yr old colors the walls, she’s real sorry too. Not for coloring the walls, that was fun. But sorry for getting caught, sure.

Tressel is a good guy. Sometimes life presents us with situations for which there are no clear guidelines. We should be slow to point the “accusing finger” at him, since none of us have been in his position.

And here I was thinking all those people up yonder had good morals. 🙂

Everyone should read the comments made to Tressel’s comment. Buck1 hit part of the mark by mentioning the injustice done to other schools who are out of postseason play and a big bowl payout. Buck1 is the guy that says it (with agreement from otherts) plainly and honestly. Tressel should be away from that school. And he should take Gee with him.

The public, more often than not, will forgive mistakes, but it will not forgive trying to wriggle and weasel out of one.
