Todd Grantham, antidote to happy talk.

From Bulldogs Blog:

… Grantham was in midseason mode when asked what the defense needs to do to stop the run better.

“Tackle the runner,” Grantham said.

You know I love it when Grantham gets that snarling, snapping thing going on. Don’t you know the players are hearing the same thing. Grantham’s vocal simplicities endear me to him, because the bottom line is he is right.

Grantham rocks. But I got some of those “straight from the bottle” Guiness -es and put simply, it doesn’t taste the same. I still poured it into a glass and it was disappointing. Flat and thin, I would say.

You just cannot replicate the taste of Guinnes on “the auld sod”. It is just never that good again, and that is hard to describe to folks. Now if they just had some decent food to go with it……

Couldn’t agree more. There’s nothing like a cold pint in a Dublin pub. The exported stuff just isn’t the same. Ah, memories…. it’s time for a return trip.

Try the Guinness pour at Fado’s in Atlanta. It’s much better than anywhere else I tried and I was told that they brought in the system they use in Ireland. Could be total BS, however it does taste different and better than anywhere else.

I actually don’t mind the can Guiness, but of course, it is better from the draught at Fados.

Absolutely, the Guinness in Ireland is peerless. As for the food, Guinness counts as a meal, right?

      It absolutely does.

Whatever you do, don’t eat sammiches from the train stations. I got sick as shit from eating one of those.

        Train station food? Piff

Try a sandwich from the dining car on the Bratislava to Prague Intercity. It’s as good as cardboard dipped in ExLax.

Of course Guiness counts as a meal. Haven’t you heard of a six course Irish dinner?

Man, I’m really ready for our defense to be fearsome again. Really.

Blah blah blah. Not sure why we give any credence to ANY statement that comes from spring practice. Just come ready to play in 2011.

So are you saying that Grantham’s statement that tackling the runner would help the defense stop the run is incorrect? 😉

Grantham is a tough talker who says the right thing, I wish him well but I’m ready to see some tenacity out of his defense otherwise he’ll just end up looking like a defensive coordinator version of Charlie “we’ll never lose to USC again” Weis.

Reptillicide- What’s so great about the Dublin, Ga pubs?

Did I tell you about the time I was on the Bratislava to Prague Intercity and ate a prepackaged sandwich? Took the cardboard in the package, melted ExLax on it, rewrapped it and left it in the dining car for the next guy.
