Remember the dude in Macon who earned a sarcastic rebuke from Coach Richt last week for dissing Bryan McClendon?
My guess is that he won’t be thrilled with this news.

Well, to be fair, it may be a big raise for McClendon, but in the big scheme of coaching salaries, it doesn’t look like a ‘boat load’ of money to go somewhere else.

And he’s quickly gaining a reputation as a top-rate recruiter, which is my guess for the biggest reason why McGarity and Richt wanted to keep him in the fold.

And he was the “Running game Coordinator”. He deserves majority of the blame for the putrid running game IMO.
McClendon will only do well if Friend does well. If your linemen are getting knocked 2-3 yards back when the ball is snapped it’s hard to get a running game established.
Ball on the other hand has something to prove, to me anyway. He coached running backs while Brown and Moreno were here then asked to be switched to receivers when AJ got here. Our receivers (other than AJ) have been suspect at best since Ball took them over.

Bingo! Our RBs have had to break tackles to get back to the line of scrimmage since 2007. Knowshon made some of the best 2-3 yard gains I had ever seen. Watching replays I would stop the tape 1-2 seconds into the play just to see how badly our OL had been beaten, it was scary how often we were beaten up front.
Something tells me CSS may have been the issue. We never looked in-sync to me during his tenure, although he did inherit a bad situation when he first arrived. My concern was how we seemed to get worse the longer he was there, with experienced linemen.
Let’s see how McClendon does with a full quiver and the Big Uglies getting new direction. I am fine with CMR’s judgement and glad he called the low-life out in Macon. He deserves much more respect than the UGA fanbase has given him.

This occurred to me as well. The O-line issues are going to have a big effect on the running game. I think the whole strength and conditioning problems manifested itself there the most. Those guys got pushed around pretty good, particularly late in games. We’ll see what happens.

That’s possible. It’s also possible that they just missed on recruits or had bad luck with the offensive line. S&C aside, they haven’t been churning out draft picks on the line.

Coach O hasn’t had much to say publically, has he.
But ‘Tree was moved to linebacker when Coach O came in. I thought linebacker play on G-Day looked pretty good (but it was G-Day, after all). We look pretty deep at linebacker, too.

Why do Dawg Coaches Not get offers from other programs??? THEY DO…

On face value of this last statement, is he giving us a sign that “during the season” he might decide Richt’s fate?

Too bad Dawgs couldn’t have hired RB coach Reggie Davis. Harbaugh nabbed him from Oregon State to assist in SF. Coached Jacquizz Rodgers for 3 years – and Rodgers never fumbled!

Most RB coaches aren’t paid for coaching RBs. They’re paid for recruiting. I doubt Davis would be better than McClendon at that right now in Georgia.

Wow. So top RB recruits like Caleb King (#1 on many recruiting boards) and Washaun Ealey have performed up to your expectations? UGA gets top recruits, not that I’d attribute it to McClendon, but the production on the field? Would anyone grade our RB’s performance above a C?
Again, I said Rodgers had zero (0) fumbles. When Falcons drafted Rodgers, he attributed that to coaching. If you can’t coach, recruiting isn’t going to make a difference unless you play all patsies.

It would help if King and Ealey stayed out of trouble/mischief/academic issues. Can’t really blame the coaches for those young men lacking common sense.

The McClendon thing just goes to show you that Mark will stand by his man until it is too late. Since Mc became the RB coach our RB’s have under performed in all areas against quality competition. They cut down on the fumbles last year but the number of fumbles that were game changers was way up. In the G-Day game the O drives 75 yards down inside the 5 only to cough it up. I thought I was having a flash back of 2010. Who could we hire that is better? How about Robert Edwards seems he has been doing a little high school coaching and lord knows he was a great RB. That’s just not Mark’s style he prefers the if you don’t fire him I am going to fire you management style.
