Mark Richt is one of three coaches who have a chance to reach a milestone this season – 100 wins as an SEC head coach. What’s interesting about the company he could join isn’t that it’s a relatively small group (thirteen at present), but that the accomplishment hasn’t translated into more job security.
Check out that list. There are more coaches there who got sacked than you might expect.
A little surprising to see Doug Dickey’s name there. He never seemed happy as a coach.

Nice to see Bobby Dodd of Tech on there.
Heh heh.
How’d that “Independent” thing work, Tech?.
Heh heh.

Interesting that Richt will get his 100 victories at the same school. Saban and Nutt can’t say that.

If LSU wins 11 games this year, Les Miles will become just the third SEC coach ever to have 4 11-win seasons. One of the other two is obviously Bear Bryant.
The other is Phil Fulmer.

Same would be true of Richt.

And Spurrier, though South Carolina winning 11 games would violate the laws of the universe.

Both Richt and Nutt could be going for 100 against each other.

And, theoretically, both could get to that plateau this season and still be unemployed next year. Theoretically.

Would someone please explain to me why Nutt has been an SEC coach for so long. He seems line the poster child of mediocrity to me.
