I get the point Jerry Hinnen is making here, but honestly, after what Vol fans have been put through over the last couple of seasons (Battered Vol Syndrome?), I kind of find that level of support admirable.
Put it this way: Georgia Tech would kill for that kind of season ticket renewal number.
Must be a slow day at CBS and Jerry had to write something. If my math is correct, that’s less than 4% down from last year, not exactly drama.

Not only would Georgia Tech kill to have that kind of season ticket renewal rate, but their athletic department staff and head coach would then orchestrate the cover-up of the killing.

Man, that read REALLY optimistic to me…but maybe he’s doing that for effect. Still, that game scares the crap out of me.

Sunday night ESPNU replayed Tennessee vs North Carolina in last year’s Music City bowl. I remembered watching the game last year and that it had a crazy finish but I couldn’t remember who won. Last year I was vaguely pulling for Tennessee because of the SEC connection.
Seven months later, my daughter has enrolled at North Carolina for fall classes and I’ve bought tickets for UNC vs Miami in Chapel Hill for parent’s weekend. So I was interested in watching the game for a new reason. Who is this UNC team?
It was a lot of fun watching DaRick Dooley shake hands thinking he’d won the game only to have to go back to the sideline and coach his team to an OT loss.
Why do I dislike DaRick Dooley?

“No team in the country has been more disappointing over the past two seasons than Georgia”
Ouch. I want to argue against him, but the truth hurts. Maybe Texas shares the 2010 crown with us?

Not if you average the wins from 09 and 10 for each squad. UGA avg 7 wins per season while Texas averages 9.

Right, that’s why Texas can only share the 2010 crown with us. I would say their spot in the NCG in ’09 would qualify as a success – and my money would be on them to win it if no McCoy freak injury.

What are UGA’s season’s tickets numbers? Since Tenn has more seats I would expect them to allocate more than UGA. Either way, if ours aren’t filled should we start blaming the economy, and the drought, and the………?
